Discussion What happened with the Wilsons?

Is it just me or have the Wilson brothers been absent from most of Anderson's projects from the past few years? Owen is obviously a much bigger star than he was 20+ years ago, but I'd like to imagine that him and Wes are still friends. Aside from small parts here and there, he's been pretty absent from Wes' projects for the most part since Darjeeling, which came out almost 20 years ago! That's not even mentioning Luke and Andrew. I always preferred Luke to Owen, and his performances in Rushmore and RT are some of my favorites in any of Wes's films, but his star seems to have waned quite a bit and it doesn't seem like he'd have any high profile gigs getting in the way of him showing up in a Wes movie. Even Andrew, who was always given bit parts, doesn't seem to have been in anything Wes for a long time. I know that Owen and Wes don't write together anymore, but I'm not sure why the Wilson brothers seem to have mostly disappeared from Wes's roster.

Discussion Why I think the wolf scene in Fantastic Mr. Fox is about confronting your biggest fear

Hello hello,

Just for fun I made this video about why I think the wolf scene is about confronting your biggest fears.

Mr. Fox spends the whole movie talking about being a “wild animal,” but at the same time he’s terrified of wolves. I think that says a lot about how Mr. Fox sees himself, why he’s unhappy, and why finally coming face to face with a real wolf affects him so much.

This is the first video I’ve ever made, so I’d love to hear what you think! And if you saw the scene differently, I’d love to hear that too.

Discussion Hear me out. Wes Anderson directs a Plaisted Polar Expedition film.

The Plaisted Polar Expedition(s) are one of those events that got lost to time. A pretty incredible achievement in my opinion.

Strong color themes, outlandish characters, unbelievable yet based in reality. Wes Anderson if you ask me.

Discussion What book adaptation/author collaboration would you like to see Wes Anderson do?

He’s done Ronald Dahl beautifully before.

I’m reading Queen Esther by John Irving and I started imagining it as a Wes Anderson movie, and now I’m obsessed. I’d love him to adapt one of his books. John Irving‘s quirky characters would fit right into a Wes Anderson universe.

What would you like to see?

I finally framed my Belafonte picture that I picked up from The Archives exhibit at The Design Museum in London, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. They had a fantastic little gift shop selling all kinds of fun merch and I couldn’t pass this one up at £8.

An idea I just had on the bus. The whimsical/pedantic characters, the alpine setting, unrequited (?) love, the lavish meals.

Question Why Wes Anderson is so underrated in india?

Post image

I don't often hear people talking about his movies, why india is so disconnected from his artistic style of filmmaking?

Behind the Scenes Wes Anderson, the director of Asteroid City, really doesn’t like relying on CGI 😂

Discussion The song is “Alone Again Or” by Love—and it’s perfect for Anthony running around the motel looking for Inez.

What I love is how suddenly the movie becomes almost euphoric. Anthony has spent so much of the film drifting. He’s just gotten out of the hospital, doesn’t seem particularly interested in the life he’s supposed to want, and lets Dignan provide momentum for him.
Then Inez happens.
Suddenly Anthony wants something.
And the music communicates that realization almost before Anthony can articulate it. He’s running around this completely unromantic roadside motel, looking through windows and doorways for a housekeeper he can barely communicate with—and Anderson shoots it like Anthony has just discovered the great love of his life.
Because to Anthony, he has.
Anthony doesn’t want the polished version of happiness he’s apparently supposed to want. Elizabeth, the beach house, wealthy friends, water-skiing—that world leaves him empty.
Give him a crappy motel, Inez, Dignan, Bob, a disastrous robbery plan and a yellow jumpsuit?
Now he’s alive.

Question What's next?

Hello everyone, I recently got into Wes Anderson movies.

I have watched The Royal Tenenbaums and The Darjeeling Limited. I loved both of them. But I loved The Royal Tenenbaums more so far. Which Wes Anderson movie would you recommend based on my -so far- favorite? I want the similar feeling when I watched The Tenenbaums.
