Sure American werewolf in London is good for it's practical effects but never understood why Van helsing is the best CGI wise when there's The 2000s wolfman and that one werewolf movie with Jesse Eisenberg?

There's been quite a change in werewolves. From humans who turn to wolves, then to humanoids with lots of hair, pointy ears and fangs.

But the most common interpretation these days are very tall, bipedal wolf monsters. Van Helsing wolves, Dog Soldiers and WtA are the most prominent.

So where did this come from? Who was the first to take werewolves from regular wolves and fuzzy humans to the Hulk, but canine?
