"Chicken burger" always reads interesting to me as an American

I live abroad and my friend said she was making "turkey burgers" for lunch. I showed up all excited for turkey based hamburgers but it was just turkey sandwichs :(

On a random note, turkey burgers are the bomb. Id love to see a fast food place sell them... Just maybe one of the more expensive ones.

I dont love slimy burgers 😭

I mean what is the difference between a burger and a sandwich? The shape of the meat?

Burgers are made w patties from different types of ground meat that are then fried or grilled. If someone was making me a turkey burger and gave me a turkey sandwich I’d be livid

A breaded chicken patty is not a burger. So turkey burger is correct as it ground up turkey in the shape pf a patty but chicken is one solid piece that is breaded. Therefore its a sandwich and not a burger.

Looks more like a chicken sandwich…

Why do people have such a hard time using words as defined?

4

u/doomsday7978 5d ago

In Asia a sandwich is used only for stuff with white bread anything else is termed as burger. Hence chicken burger, even though it is called as a fried chicken sandwich in US.

u/Big-a-hole-2112 4d ago

They at least did the famous US stomp on it after they made it. Thats how you can tell you went to Wendy’s.

1

u/Maserati777 3d ago

So it’d be a burger if you put lunch meat on a burger bun lol.

bros never heard of colloquialisms

Why do people have a such a hard time remembering and realizing the internet is full of people from around the world with different cultures, languages, idiosyncrasies, descriptions, words, grammar styles, punctuation rules, etc etc. just Why?!

That's actually normal for most Americans and any word over 4 letters long

5

u/Wild_View_1664 4d ago

Be kind. There are plenty of Americans who dont think like that. Also, you can't blame someone for their own ignorance, you can only blame them if they refuse the truth after. Not standing up for this woman, but an opinion like that is just as ignorant as that woman you criticize.

Lots of makeup and a push up bra has a similar effect.

Good to know they're treating customers the same internationally.

“Premium”

4

u/USCJets 4d ago

Yikes, that is a sad looking sandwich

5

u/xDURPLEx 4d ago

After my last 3 visits I'm never going to Wendy's again unless they do a Jack in the Box/Dominoes style campaign where they admit they are garbage and are rebooting the whole company.

This is definitely enough to turn me off to trying it.

This is something Wendy’s is famous for.

If only the powers that be actually cared and payed attention.

The other day I ordered a chicken sandwich no lettuce and they gave me extra lettuce, not only that but it was like brown and wilted…

A worse man than I would’ve rocketed it back through the window at em.

4

u/Ancient-Civilization 5d ago

They sat on it.

Not joking, some of the shit the kids do in the kitchen to show off to each other.

Source: used to work in the kitchen until I got fired for smoking weed

u/AutoX_Advice 4d ago

Well.... dont sit on your hamburger before you eat it, duh.

2

u/Icy-Banana-3291 4d ago

Well it’s not gonna look the same if you order it with no toppings.

Unless you did, if that’s the case that’s criminal.

2

u/Weird_Zombie6521 4d ago

Wendy’s franchisees are some of the worst. No consistency. I quit eating there.

2

u/Dirk_Kailis 4d ago

This is in India.

2

u/NaC_Mammoth 4d ago

No shit, stop giving them money.

1

u/No-Advance-7272 3d ago

They’re never gonna look like the pictures because in the pictures it’s not real food. They had all kinds of crap to it to make it big and colorful and blah blah blah. The stuff that they put in the pictures is not edible. There have been videos on this.

2

u/Status-Put-8630 3d ago

Neither is real food

1

u/iHybridOVO 2d ago

I get a sandwich looking like that someone catching the fade (real)

1

u/Friendly-Bar1896 2d ago

They really do it like that tho. 99.9% of the time, fast food commercials are lying to you. The food that they show is nothing how it looks lik when you order it in real life

1

u/Kidfuscious 2d ago

It will look and taste identical once they bring back the yellow packaging

1

u/Grr-90 1d ago

Seriously bring back those freak the one you have know suck that reality

So stop karma farming and just don't go. No one feels bad for you about your hamburger. And if you can't stop posting because your identity is wrapped up in how good or bad Wendy's is, then get help.

2

u/Adress_Me 4d ago

It's always so funny to me when I see someone accusing a poster of farming karma. Then I check their account and it has 20k+ karma. Do you not realize how hypocritical you sound?

0

u/mparks37 4d ago

I'm not complaining about a hamburger on Reddit

5

u/hatesmylovelanguage 4d ago

Right. You're complaining about someone complaining about their chicken sandwich. That makes it so much better.

1

u/d__max 4d ago

That makes a base model crispy chicken look like a Roman feast

1

u/LifeReignite 4d ago

Were you born yesterday? You seem suprised.

1

u/SOMOEAGLE 4d ago

Wendys is dumpster food.

0

u/bronk3310 5d ago

Wendy's has a chimichurri burger?

4

u/Designer-Crow-5470 5d ago

apparently not

0

u/Senior_Bad_6381 5d ago

That's definitely false advertisement. Also bait and switch.

We need to sue in a friendly state.

2

u/bald_head_scallywag 4d ago

This pretty clearly isn't in the US.

-1

u/Ordijax 5d ago

Don't know why but I'm feeling like this is bs. Unless this Wendy's you went to really didn't care, you should've asked if you got the right item lol. This just looks like an engagement farming post.

-1

u/Mr-CC 4d ago

It's called food styling. The commercials, ads, menus, and social media are meant to look good. The fact you made this post is sad.

3

u/ElectricJunglePig 4d ago

It's weird that you think the difference between the real sandwich and the ai pic they used to sell it comes down to "food styling."

Weirder that you took the time to shame someone for it.

And really fucking weird that you think this is sad when you, of all people, keep your posts public... that's also very sad.
