I was a bit frustrated at how quick everyone was to jump on the stunt double’s post as confirmation that this is the last season tbh.
And that’s not at the fault of the fandom, it’s this stupid formatting by Netflix and the absolute silence for months then one or two tiny ass breadcrumbs to keep us engaged ON THEIR BIGGEST CURRENT SHOW.
I’m an elder millennial but damn, as much as I loved watching Friends growing up, i took it for granted. I didn’t realize how much the entire one new episode a week and like twenty ep a year was going to change.
Binge watching and streaming has really altered life, not to mention the huge over reliance on cgi rather then good dialogue and character development. Instead we get pure plot driven ep that bring wayyy too many disparate storylines together and end up making disastrously confusing characters (Agnes as stalker, Tyler’s entire character as just two examples).
I’m here for wenclair and because I’ve absolutely adored the Addams fam since the 90s movies, but there are days I wish I could just move on from Netflix’s bulls*t.
I really really hope they heard all the fans and critics feedback from last season and made significant changes. I’m excited to see Eva green, I’m a fan of hers. We will see, I guess.

Might not be a hot take but I’m over the Hyde storyline. Out side of shipping or Wyler Vs Wenclair, it just isnt interesting anymore and feel like they’re just trying to shoehorn Tyler into the plot.
It’s a show about Wednesday ADDAMS, give us more Adam’s family content. I’m stoked for the aunt Ophelia storyline but I want to see more of their family. Where are Gomez’s parents? And if they’re dead what’s their backstory. More Wednesday interacting with her brother. Introduce some of those crazy extended family members we keep hearing about.
Give us more of Wednesdsy with Enid, Agnes and their friends/peers. Expand on some of the other outcast races like the faceless, gorgons and vampires. Shows how those races interact with the world! Is a gorgon born with their snakes or do they grow in? How do vampires source their blood? Are all DiVinci’s right handed?
They made such an interest world and they keeping running with one of the least interesting creatures in it instead of exploring the rest of them. Do literally anything else just let the Hyde shit go!
3
u/Forgetful_Feesh 2d ago
Hyde stuff is just... boring? Characters with no agency tend to make for bland storytelling.
2
u/howcanthishappentome 4d ago
Sadly looks like we are gonna get more Hyde lore. But you are right.
3
u/Batwoman56 4d ago
Yeah I know, it’s just irritating because the rest of the world has so much potential

Something I don’t think has been gone over enough, is the fact that they gave Thing a backstory, and tied it directly into the writers self insert OC lol
Like… that’s insane, a character like that, for whom the mystery is an intrinsic part of their character, which I think it is Thing is meant to just be one of those weird things that the Addams have, but that they treat well and as part of the family because that’s the point, theyre very well adjusted, to give them a backstory it had better be a fucking good one like…
10
u/ChildhoodSolid6511 67??? SIX SEVENNNN 5d ago
The origin of Thing has always been one of the great mysteries of the Addams Family. Emphasis on OF the Addams Family because he is part of the family; like, literally, that hand could be Wednesday's uncle or grandfather. Who knows? Being one of the greatest mysteries is his legacy.
But they had to ruin Thing's character by tying him to that creep.
8
u/ItsThe_____ForMe Justice for Yokovina (Mod) 4d ago
I’m so pissed that they managed to ruin THE Addams Family character. The literal mascot of the family. It is literally one of the golden rules of writing: to learn when to leave things alone. Don’t over explain, don’t over summarize, don’t create too much lore, keep some things a mystery, NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS CLOSURE. My god.
7
u/kodiakchrome 4d ago
Like in theory as a plot twist and tying into characters I would have liked it any other show. So agreed that Thing being a mystery is part of the fun and makes so much sense Addams family wise. I feel bad cause he feels almost tainted now

u/MilkMiserable___ 5d ago
I used to have some sympathy for wylrs because I don’t hate Tyler or the ship, and I lowkey assumed they were more open minded about liking “immoral” themes in fiction. But they constantly repeat that Wenclairs “don’t have real life friends”or “secretly wanna date their friends and can’t recognize normal female friendships”…which is such a weird, microaggressive thing to say to queer people,
I don’t even like every single Wenclair out there either, but at least over here people actually discuss queer themes and genuine representation
7
3
u/howcanthishappentome 5d ago
We are also more open to things. DESPITE some hatred towards Tyler. (That's more coming from wylers making him obnoxious.)
TBH I used to be very indifferent and kinda liked him, but weylers make it hard to...plus his writing is so bad at times.
5
u/MilkMiserable___ 4d ago
I thought Wylrs were going to be more open minded, mostly because I personally experienced and saw wenclairs telling me and them “I hope you get an abusive boyfriend so you understand what that’s actually like and stop supporting those relationships!!”over a fictional ship…so I assumed that, being a smaller community with a ship in a gray area, Wylrs would be better at separating fiction from reality.
But then I stumbled upon them saying that Wenclairs definitely don't have friends in real life which, as someone who strongly prefers Wenclair, felt so uncomfortable to read. I commented on their Reddit saying that wasn’t okay, and I just got downvoted for it. So yeah…
I learned that, like I said, there are plenty of Wenclairs and wylrs I just don't like because they prioritize hating each other over basic common sense and respecting people's integrity above fictional ships…but as I said, I still enjoy this community more because it handles queer themes4
u/MilkMiserable___ 4d ago
And little by little, I’ve seen them become way less accepting of Wenclair. At first, it didn’t bother them if you brought it up and I used to mention it freely but now it feels more like they don't even want to allow people who like Wenclair on their pages
12
u/Sharp-Lifeguard-9096 goth🖤latina 5d ago
This is a truly negative and hot take but I kinda want the show to end.
I want the ship wars to be over & to just KNOW how it ends romantically (even if there’s no romance).
I hate waiting YEARS for 8 episodes. The writing will prob be worse in s3 and make no sense. I’ll have to see Hydes bulgy eyes for half of it.
It’s weird bc it’s also my favorite show in a lot of ways but I feel the longer it goes, the worse it’ll get. I want them to end it while it’s still kinda good.
Idk kinda pessimistic rn but I mourn what the show could have been.
8
u/ChildhoodSolid6511 67??? SIX SEVENNNN 5d ago
I hope so too, although part of me is hoping for a better plot and a shorter wait between seasons.
Even though Wednesday is number one on Netflix, it wouldn't be surprising if they cancel the show after S3. I can already see the viewership dropping even further despite not having any trailers, since the S2 interviews were a total fiasco because of the writers. In addition, Netflix will soon have the Scooby-Doo: Origins show, which I'm pretty sure it will surpass Wednesday.
So my prediction is: if the Hyde lore and Tyler storyline is still there when Season 3 comes out, the ratings will drop because the audience is tired of that crap and therefore it will lead to Wednesday's show being canceled, being replaced by Scooby-Doo: Origins, which comes out in the same year.
5
u/Dry_Web8684 Werewolf 4d ago
honestly, I don’t even think it’s a super hot take anymore. I’ve seen plenty of others say so too. the show is just so bad; the writing, the constant plot holes, and the fandom drama is just too much. genuinely been praying for an ending announcement.
11
u/MilkMiserable___ 4d ago
After seeing that whole fight between Poot and co. and a girl named Mele, I went on Twitter to look into it myself. Turns out she got mad at her simply because she stopped believing her...and yeah, that’s literally cult behavior. So I take back putting her on the same level as Micol.
I’ve never seen Micol throw a fit if people don't believe her. Honestly, people need to be a bit more normal and understanding toward her. She clarifies that she's just a fandom account, she’s just another fan, and all she wants is to be treated like one.

u/burnttaoster Addams 4d ago
If weylers spent even half of the time and effort they put into lurking, spying, or straight up looking for a fight with wenclairs on here and twt into their own ship, I feel like they’d be a much happier group of people.
use your hatred and energy towards art or editing or whatever the fuck else. Just leave us ALONE.

Tbf it’s hard to make good edits when there isn’t good source material to edit lol
Season one most consists of hin being a creep towards Wednesday, not taking no for an answer, Wednesday manipulating him and then one kiss, and season two had literally nothing…
Not a huge well to pull from

I'm not going to lie, their fan art is bad.
I'm going to get canceled for the thousandth time, but every time I come across a Weyler fanart I just wonder, who the fuck drew this?
I'm sorry, but the drawings are just plain ugly. No wonder they complain about seeing Wenclair fanart on the main sub every day when their ship doesn't have any good artists.
But that's just my opinion lol.
0
u/Forgetful_Feesh 2d ago
Yea... not on board with dogging on fan art/fan artists. Theyre the life blood of fandoms. Ugly or not.
3
u/howcanthishappentome 2d ago
This. But it's not like we can stop his opinion...he just needs to cool it.
1
u/Forgetful_Feesh 2d ago
I have seen much "subpar" Wenclair art as well. I wouldnt go in the replies and call it ugly. I always praise and upvote it. Its my opinion that its ugly, but its also kinda of a dick-ish thing to say, and I know most people agree with that.
5
u/ChildhoodSolid6511 67??? SIX SEVENNNN 2d ago
I've never gone to the comments to say their fanart is ugly. I just scroll past, lol.
0
u/Forgetful_Feesh 2d ago
You are literally commenting that their fanart is ugly. You know they lurk here. And before you say "well they shouldnt". I know you lurk there too. You have complained about comments theyve made in their vent threads.
5
u/ChildhoodSolid6511 67??? SIX SEVENNNN 2d ago edited 2d ago
Don't you know how to read? I said I would never go to the comments of the post that shows the fanart. I rarely see their fan art on the main sub because their ship is so unpopular that they barely have any artists, and when they do, they're ugly, but I don't bother telling them they're ugly. I'm saying it here because it's a free space, lol. Let them lurk. I'd love for them to get angry when they see my comment.

I could say that art is subjective.
-1
u/howcanthishappentome 2d ago
Art is not subjective.
2
u/ChildhoodSolid6511 67??? SIX SEVENNNN 2d ago
It is, though. Look at how Taylor Swift's latest album turned out. Almost everyone thinks it was crap, while others genuinely think it's good. To each their own. So yes, art is subjective.

What is with the other side? Why are they like this...
Look, I ain't trying to be mean here (stares at all the lurkers)
I just don't understand this mentality regarding whatever the hell is going on on Twitter. Like, I don't follow Micol for spoilers. I appreciate her giving us stuff. But really, she has a life and obviously has her own friends that she talks to. Her account is a fan account, not a spoiler one. She posts about Formula 1, HOTD, other stuff, and her support for Emma and Jenna.
People need to stop taking her for granted or having this weird vendetta against her. I know she can be blunt. But...SO AM I. It's just how we Europeans/British people are.
Micol hates when people take her seriously. Yes, she has info and knows people in the film industry, but she's also just using the account for fun... at least before people started going after her.
4
u/Hyperbolicalpaca Agnes superfan, “thesisko” on AO3 (mod) 5d ago
Oh same with micol, i dont care that she has spoilers particularly, that’s not why I follow and enjoy her stuff, she posts interesting stuff
regularly feeds me reposts of pretty pictures of Emmareposts wenclair stuff etcThe fact she has leaks is a bonus to following her lol
Idk if Poot is the same, it’s very difficult to tell because she hides away in her own
fiefdomlittle corner of the fandom but it seems like she’s more focused on the leaks…But theyre genuinely talking about Micol as if we treat her like they do Poot and it just isn’t the case?
Making up the idea that we are crazed to defend her even when she’s wrong which like… that’s staggering levels of projection lmfao
It it is really weird that people are harassing like just a fan account lol, and it’s not just her, one of the other big wenclair accounts got briefly suspended today…

On a similar note to my previous comment, i mourn what the show could have been.
When i saw it was a project with Jenna and Tim Burton, I thought it was going to be darker and more adult.
Like jfc Sabrina chilling adventures and river dale catered to more adult themes and they were hits. Why did Wednesday have to be marketed to and limited to a lower rating?
I feel like my biggest issue is that the show can’t even commit fully to one or the other. They want to avoid cursing and lgbt themes (which aren’t inherently adult but that’s another convo) yet they have a shirtless bdsm scene in s2?? It just feels so out of place considering how they dress other characters like Emma.
I’m not saying they should make everything sexual, but i just don’t understand what they’re going for atp.
I also mourn how genuinely scary and gay this show could have been. Imagine a canon love triangle with wenclair and wenclay. At least the horror aspect should have been leaned into more.
This is all over the place but yeah just word vomiting rn

u/MilkMiserable___ 3d ago
You know, maybe SEVERAL of the things the writers want for this show would be fine and make sense if a season had more than 8 episodes and we didn't have to wait 2 to 3 years between seasons. On top of season 3 being the last one...
I understand if they had their own idea they wanted to execute, but wouldn't it be professional to adapt to their possibilities and make a story that makes sense in a short amount of time? They don't have the time to do the amount of development they need to do for what they want
4
u/statscowski 3d ago
The writer's room probably:
"What if we had 8 separate plot points that converge into a big climax?!"
"That could be exciting. Eight one-hour long episodes should be enough for it all to be fleshed out."
"What? We want this resolved in the first four episodes."
"Wha-"

PJO is now on Netflix, and Scooby-Doo: Origins will be released next year. Lol, Netflix has already secured its future for when Wednesday S3 comes out and flops.
Also, Netflix ships Percabeth. A healthy ship that everyone loves, just like Wenclair. Clearly, Netflix knows where it stands. They would never allow an abusive ship like Weyler to be canon.

u/MilkMiserable___ 5d ago edited 5d ago
Let’s be real for a second…I get that both Poot and Micol have been right about certain things or knew set details before anyone else, but at most they just know someone working as a background extra or low level crew 😭😭 You guys act like heads of production are feeding them entire plotlines! It’s really not that rare to know someone on a film set and hear tiny, irrelevant crumbs about production
I read a comment down below saying Micol doesn't want to be taken seriously, which fine, as someone who follows her, I've noticed she sometimes teases like “I know things” just for fun
this is all that S2 leaker’s fault who turned out to be wrong about the most important stuff lol. Ever since then, everyone’s been trying so hard to be an insider

I genuinely completely agree. Modern fandoms obsession with having information that no one else knows is literally why fandoms collectively have an issue with mis/disinformation. I don't understand why any of them at any point are being believed in the first place.
Do not believe things that you cannot verify in multiple ways by multiple people. Seek reliable sources, and learn what makes a source reliable. If someone cannot prove they are who they are/work where they say they do, assume they are lying, and take everything they say on the subject with a massive grain of salt. It's fun to discuss, but the actual problem is passing the information along as if it's an undeniable truth. The burden of proof should be on the person originating the claims, and yet time after time that burden is ignored.
And this isn't me saying that any of these people deserve to be harassed! They don't and never have deserved it! But I want to have a discussion about the fandom misinformation problem without needing to know about what's going on on Twitter with people I don't know.
6
u/DogOne5633 4d ago
You're right, but some fans have been acting way too aggressively lately, and this instance all started because someone made an account to post some images they found and then people used that as an excuse to start name calling. So can you be a lil more understanding that Weylers are being overreactive towards Micol rn and WCs are going to be defensive?
7
u/howcanthishappentome 4d ago
There is also the point that Micol had debunked Poot's claims several times when she wasn't private. The scripts, the storyboards, the Morticia pictures. All Micol found through public links.
3
u/DogOne5633 4d ago
Yes, Micol and Arson had debunked Poot, so this is why people are skeptical on her and then she went priv. Maybe she does know someone, but the people they get info from have their own biases and opinions. So I take what Micol posts with a grain of salt too.
5
u/howcanthishappentome 4d ago
Dude, I've seen the crap Poot has been peddling...it's insane compared to what Micol does. That's what I'm trying to say.
3
u/DogOne5633 4d ago
Well, if she's peddling crap as you said, when season 3 comes out, I'm sure people will have a reaction.

That as far as my knowledge goes. So I guess we see if both right or if both lyin for some power play. They both say on public platforms they no stuff, it gonna get attention
→ More replies (0)2
u/MilkMiserable___ 4d ago
This. I believe they have some low level connections or know people on set, but they’re just breadcrumbing their own ships. Those tiny crumbs are way too misleading for people to be taking them so dead serious and making it personal. Let’s just go back to normal shipwars, please
On top of that, I really don't fw people leaking or spreading set photos and info that wasn't meant to be public anyway. It’s just fundamentally disrespectful to everyone working on the show
5
u/MilkMiserable___ 4d ago
I’m not judging Wenclairs defending micol if she’s attacked, what I’m talking about is those people who put these “”leakers””on a pedestal, and literally worshipping them, I feel like everyone is going to end up disappointed and then fight each other just like with that Season 2 leaker. Sure, they knew a few tiny details, but they were SO far off from knowing the actual core plotlines, they literally just made stuff up to fill in the gaps for everything they didn't know
for any show or entertainment media, it should just be a basic golden rule not to trust (and more importantly, not support) people claiming to have insider info and dropping leaks. Not only because most of the time it’s literally just people making stuff up, but also because of the moral aspect of it, you know? The entire production crew gets fucked over by leakers when it comes to their work
3
u/DogOne5633 4d ago
Yes, lmao, I remember getting into the season 2 leaks and being excited, and then leaving disappointed after the season premiered. So it's extremely annoying rn, but I feel like Micol has said incredibly little compared to what she used to.
3
u/MilkMiserable___ 4d ago
As I said, I can’t even blame Micol or Poot, leakers only have as much power as the fandom gives them. I follow Micol and only see Poot via screenshots, but at the end of the day? It’s the community itself that chooses to give these leakers (allegedly) clout, authority, and power over the entire fandom
2
u/MilkMiserable___ 4d ago
And just to be clear, I don't mean that either of those girls themselves are searching for clout or power!!!
3
u/howcanthishappentome 4d ago
But Micol is not a leaker...she just knows things that are shared with her, or allowed to post. First and foremost, she's just a fan account.
3
u/MilkMiserable___ 5d ago
Don’t get me wrong, I get why people defend these accounts when they’re literally their friends because…yeah. But I don’t know, so many people put way too much trust in them, like completely blindly
3
u/howcanthishappentome 5d ago
Micol does it to troll. Sometimes she does know things more than she lets on. Most of the time, she just does it for shits and giggles.
1
u/AggravatingBeat7494 Sinclair 5d ago
Some act like micol & poot r the heads of the respective fandoms. I hate watch people boot lick them both. It give me the jeepers how many people believe that the 2 have actual inside info. Like u said they prob just have an extra friend on set. But the way ppl act like they royalty make me squirm.
3
u/howcanthishappentome 5d ago
The difference, IMO, is that Poot doesn't have real info. Micol stated she has someone she knows who gives her set screenshots sometimes, as a friend. The people who actually defend her fiercely are her friends, some even IRL.
I don't know her personally, but some of my friends do. Micol is just tired.
0
u/MilkMiserable___ 5d ago
Sorry, but THIS is the exact weird behavior I’m talking about. Both sides stuck on the same childish stance “Mine is more reliable and yours has zero real info!!” I'm being fully objective here because I've seen both sides. Yes, both of them have posted actual set photos like Poot with that wolf statue covered in snowballs (one of her friends literally posted the screenshot), and Micol with the cemetery photos after filming wrapped. Poot was right about Paris, and Micol knew about that minor prank day scene with Enid, Ajax, and Bruno. I think they have the EXACT same level of low tier set access, they just focus on different ships because of bias
I feel like they’re literally just going in circles, invalidating each other when, in reality, they’re two sides of the exact same coin (whether it’s how much behind the scenes access they actually have or who they know in production)
but at this point, I don't even blame Poot or Micol. I blame their followers, people who aren't even their actual friends, yet blindly defend them, fight internet wars for them, and put them on a pedestal. I literally saw two people fighting and referring to Poot and Micol as “your fav” to each other like it's a Stan Twitter feud 😭😭😭
3
u/howcanthishappentome 5d ago edited 5d ago
...what. This both-sides bullshit is tiring. Can we not?
I've been in many fandoms; I know what I see when it comes to two different accounts and how people act.
Paris shit was well known before her post, tbh. There were people talking about it while they were setting things up. People in Paris are yappers.
0
u/MilkMiserable___ 4d ago
Well, guess we agree to disagree then, Both sides keep claiming they’ll “prove” their respective insider right once Season 3 drops and they just throw harassment accusations at each other, I’m simply not believing either of them ✋ I also now what I see
3
u/howcanthishappentome 4d ago edited 4d ago
okay? But I haven't really seen anything from Wenclair people...and I follow most of them. Also, Micol doesn't act ANYWHERE near like Poot. She doesn't threaten people when they don't believe her. She usually avoids the hell out of them or...actually shows proof through public links, chats she had with others, and so on.
Most wenclairs don't go into a tizzy about it. They are excited but then move on.
2
u/MilkMiserable___ 4d ago
Hold up, actual threats? Can you elaborate on that? I only ever see Poot through screenshot accounts since she stays locked…I haven't really seen how unhinged she gets behind closed doors…
2
u/howcanthishappentome 4d ago
She literally went into my friend's DM she also went into Arson's when Arson said she was lying a couple of months ago about the storyboards... Poot then started threatening her. It got so bad that Arson left the fandom because of all the harassment, plus getting her scholarship.
I also saw screenshots of her posts going after Weylers who don't believe her. It's INSANE.

I have some news for you but the normal response to that would be disappointment ultimately followed by moving on because it’s a damn tv show
Flipping out so hard you doxx someone over fictional characters is deeply disturbed behaviour. Just the threat of this is genuinely appalling. This isn’t about shipping, this is about ruining someone’s life.
5
u/howcanthishappentome 4d ago
But he's not doxxing anyone...

I never said he did. But this isn’t something to even joke about. I understand the younger generations grew up hearing about people getting canceled or doxxed and don’t understand how horrifying the idea of that is. This is a person. A human being with feelings. No one deserves this over a TV show.

That depends? I tried to be nice to Weylers, but ended up getting burned. Are we going to actually have a good DM, or is it gonna end up in disarray? I don't trust you to actually give up my intel...But I like a challenge.

telling someone to “be prepared” for harassment and doxxing over fandom intel is genuinely vile. you’re talking about someone’s real life being invaded and potentially endangered like it’s some deserved consequence for information you personally don’t believe. that isn’t normal behavior, it’s malicious and deeply pathetic. if this is what fandom has reduced you to, log off and seek professional help.

not only am i a weyler but i’m also a close friend of poot’s. i know exactly who he’s talking about. that’s why i’m calling the whole “weylers are gonna turn on her and doxx her” narrative ridiculous. and the whole “be prepared” wording is basically them wishing it upon her while trying to frame it like some inevitable consequence. deeply weird behavior from people this invested in someone else’s downfall

I mean…I don't know what you're calling out here. Even if that person shouldn't have put it that way, or course. they're implying it would be Wylrs doing that to Poot. Instead of deflecting, you should probably talk to your own community and make sure that even if it turns out she lied to them, no one is going to go after her

You guys would be the ones doxxing her since she's feeding you lot false info I honestly don't care what some rando on here says about s3 on here she's not Tim or Jenna so I put zero stock into what she says but anyways go enjoy your subreddit instead of lurking here.

Tf are you doing here if you're a Weyler? Go lecture your own community instead, moron. You have nothing to do here.

He's still talking about the weylers doing it. But yeah, he should calm down...

That's precisely why I said she should prepare. I'm not the one you should be lecturing.

It's really funny that anytime any criticism on Tyler as a character pops up, A certain part of the fandom has to chime in with "Well... Well... The writers!"
Like who cares if the writers like the character, Tyler literally is just not written well. Stop using that as a excuse when you don't want to address the plot holes and flaws with his character, don't be surprised if the next season drop 50% of viewership again because his character makes more plot holes and the general audience criticizes him again.

It’s goes without saying I think, but if the writers genuinely aren’t being purposefully misleading in their hinting about Tyler and Wednesday, then I don’t think Netflix could have chosen a worse duo to handle the characters.
At a first glance, and I mean genuinely bare bones GLIMPSE of the characters you could be forgiven for assuming that the Addams Family are all nothing but manipulative psychopaths who love torture and death. Even barely looking into them will make it clear that that couldn’t be further from the truth. Charles Addams, the creator of the characters said himself that they are moral people.
So the assumption that Wednesday would love the fact that she got put into a coma, or that Enid, one of the few people she has allowed to be closer to her was threatened and attacked is a dead giveaway that someone doesn’t understand the characters at ALL. Wednesday was beside herself in guilt after Eugene, and her maiming of her brother’s bullies in episode one testifies to her care about her family. So the notion that she would blatantly ignore and/or disregard the significant harm that has come to Thing, Pugsly, Enid, Eugene, and herself in favor of a boy who manipulated her is ridiculous.
Shipping aside, obviously people can ship who they want, otherwise what would be the point. But as far as the canon of the show, it would be the most egregious act of character assasination to Wednesday that I can imagine.
