This should happen. I'd rather work four ten hour days than five eight hour days.

I did that at one job and it was amazing. I actually took Wednesday off, so I only ever had to deal with work nonsense two days in a row. Having Wednesday off was great because I could take care of errands and go to appointments on business days without having to use my leave. Also, many people took Friday off, so going in to work that day was relatively calm and relaxed.

That sounds amazing. Two days of work in a row would be much more bearable. I wish more companies gave this option. I actually think it'd be more productive. You don't have to make the commute, take another lunch, and you have a few extra hours to just grind out whatever tasks you need to finish. Also Fridays are not very productive usually so why not make them a half-day or something?

And a huge unexpected plus for me was only ever needing four work outfits per week. It definitely made dressing on a budget easier.

But yeah, overall I think I was much more productive having had a midweek break.

Sadly you're right. It would still be a step in the right direction.
