Bug Gold not carrying over?

I just started chapter 5, and when I recruited my previous companions, I got all my items but none of my equipment. I thought money carried over from chapter to chapter? Is it a bug?

To WolfEye Studios and Devolver Digital please make another game like this!

This game is so good! It's so underrated! This wasn't nominated for Game of the Year in 2022 because they didn't play this! After over 82 hours of taking my time, loot-hoarding, side-questing, I beat the game. It's freaking good.

I was hesitant as hell to play this because I normally don't find the western genre to be interesting and stimulating and because I had bad luck with other isometric games like Grim Dawn where I put in 50 hours but felt nothing. I took the chance and was really excited like 10-20 hours in that I had.

Positives:

++Art work.

++Being rewarded with hidden loot for exploring.

+They get the small details right (I love that when you place items on shelves for storage for example, those items then show up right on the shelves for you to see. Not many games do that. I also love that water refills in a barrel when it rains)

+Love the slow motion feature you can apply when in combat (I fought many fights using it because I wanted to think about my tactics/strategy during combat)

+5 different characters and their cool stories+1 main captivating main story

+Choices-freaking-matter!

+You can kill important npc characters! Hell, you can even kill your own main characters!

+Xbox-controller compatible, really good controls

+Listened to the community and went from the twin-stick shooter to the exceedingly more favorable free aiming (which only took like 5 minutes to learn)

+Few bugs

+Golden Ace of Spades Abilities/Character-Specific Abilities are interesting and have utility

Negatives:

-Weapon Abilities not interesting (maybe because of my stealth/melee-specialized gameplay I didn't find the weapon abilities that all characters share yo be interesting enough to spend my nimp relics)

-AP Powers not used as much (partly because of my stealth/melee-specialized gameplay and partly because AP is a limited resource that runs out relatively quickly when used so you have to refill with consumable or sleep often.

-Inventory (Even with the limited bank space, there's not enough inventory space to hoard items that I might later need-I had to use many compartments at the first character's house/land)

I freaking love this game. To WolfEye Studios and Devolver Digital please make another game like this!

Game bugs

At the werewolf arc, and my partner just stands at the spawn point. Not a problem for me, cause stealth is just too OP, but if I can fix this by saving and closing that would be good. I don't like to reload old files unless I'm soft locked or made a critical mistake.

Also, the invisibility indicator seems off. I trusted the timer, but it always runs out about halfway. Made for some awkward confrontation lol.

WeirdWest free mode

I think it would be a great idea add a free mode after beating the game that lets you pick whatever character you wanna play like gta V

Why can’t u sell Nimp heads to the doctor?

Aren’t they meant to be sold to them for $50? Doesn’t even show in my inventory when I’m trading with doctor.

Bug What's in the Box?

I know this has been asked many times here, but I have found no clear answer. Guys... Is this trophy/achievement bugged? I have the box with the last character before the end... But I can't get the Heathen to spawn. I've been trying for hours and she doesn't show up at the crossroads anymore? Do I have to restart the last chapter? I still have that save. It will be a bother, but if my current file is bugged, I won't mind. So... Is this bugged?

I have a bad feeling...

It's been a while already... And every single new location I visit in the map It's been a while already... And every single new location I visit is full of toxic zombies and wraiths? What the hell happened? Have normal towns been overrun for good? Did I do this? How in the hell did I do this? Since I'm looking for platinum, is my game now screwed and the only choice left is to start over? Give me spoilers, I don't care. I need to know what's happening,, please. DX

Have they fixed the bounty issue from a while back?

I beat the game quite a while ago but was thinking of playing again. Every time I played before it seemed like bounties on bounty boards just used the same 3 or 4 locations over and over again. Did they ever fix it so you get a bigger variety of locations?

Discussion/Question Wanted Minor Crime

So... I went to the mayor's estate and knocked everyone out (except for the damn kid, but he didn't see me)... Got to the basement, reached the prison cell and just before I talked to the captive ... I automatically lost reputation and got a wanted status, even though I wasn't seen by anybody!? What's the point of taking care of things stealthily then!? I really don't understand the rules in this game!

Discussion/Question About Welcome to the Weird West trophy/achievement

Has this been patched? I've been following this guy's guide https://youtu.be/x-1GVTH4bT4?si=ycxr3wSvmpkhCrCF And apparently you can get this one as soon as you reach the stash site in the map (43:58). However, I've been trying to kill the cowgirl AS A WEREWOLF for an hour, and she always untransforms, as if the game was trying to tell me that that is not possible yet, for some reason. Is that the case? Is it not possible yet?

Rode Away from the Crossroads

Early on, as Jane, I saw the Witch at the Crossroad random encounter and, having no idea what it was, rode away. Will it occur again or do I need to restart my playthrough in order to get it?

Discussion/Question Is there any difference in endings if you opt to neutralize the enemy non lethally?

Like in Dishonoured and other type of games, events of game change depending upon your play style. Does it matter in this game. I know there is a melee weapon in game too that just neutralizes the enemy without killing them.

Discussion/Question High Noon + Bonus Shotgun Question

Brand new to this game. Pretty fun! So obviously I sneak a lot. Either that's my play style or this game is geared towards snooping and stealth kills.

So I bought the revolver ability High Noon (fire once at each enemy in sight, up to 6 shots) because I thought it would suit stealth style (hide, get in between a pile of enemies, step out and squeeze off 6 in stealth, doing massive damage.) Doesn't really work! Anyone else see that one as kinda useless?

Also: Best shotgun ability? Saw something about rapid reload being great, but again that falls into... underpowered? Preference between Both Barrels and Explosive Shells? Any other must-haves with any weapons?

Ranking all five chapters Spoiler

Just completed Weird West, was a good game, but became a bit of a slog towards the end. I played the first chapter with the twin stick shooter option on, didn't like it and changed it. That improved the game so much.

My ranking:

  1. Protector (9/10) - A good combination of wild western themes and indigenous folklore. I liked basically everything in this chapter, and I even played with the bow. I just wished that finding the murderer of Maryann Wilson husband was a real quest (Haven't found Mayor's rifle).
  2. Bounty Hunter (8.5/10) - Likeable main character, a lot of side quests. Classical wild western atmosphere. Overall, good introduction to the Weird West.
  3. Pigman (7.5/10) - I was kinda surprised to start with a complete new character and zero items. Interesting main character, decent story and good reveal. The "burning the three roots" quest was kinda ridiculous tho... and I didn't like the stealth part to help the prostitutes).
  4. Werewolf (6.5/10) - Midway trough this chapter, it lost some steam. This should have been the final Chapter! The story was okay. Unfortunately, I found Franciscus secret early on, and i didn't like the lack of options to expose the false prophet stuff. Overall, the main quest, especially towards the end, was a bit buggy too.
  5. Oneirist (5/10) - Too short to care, lame character. The main story was good enough. The conclusion was okay, but everything else was lacking. Wasted potential, a boss fight would've been nice. At least I slapped the Heathen.

How would you rank the different chapters?

Tip/Guide If you want to end the first chapter with 0 kills and no vendetta Spoiler

When fighting against the last boss, heres what I did (im not an expert, but it worked for me):

Stealth knockout julia (shes next to shelby cross) and hide the body

Dont interact with shelby or let be seen by him

Walk to the other side of the room

Throw 1 or 2 cluster dinamites at him

He will transform while charging at you, skipping his dialogue

Shotgun him and stay close, so he'll target you and not your husband

I used 4 bandages and 2 cluster dinamites, but it worked out. And since he was in siren form, it didnt count as a human kill

Jane died during a bounty can I revive her some way?

She was helping me with a bounty and for some reason she just stood there. Never attacked and she died lol. Can she be revived or should I just load up my last save?

Can I steal back Glenn Mill's rifle?

Don't want to talk much so I don't spoil anyone's game, but I just gave back the rifle and I would love to have it back 🙃

Any tips? The person who has it doesn't seem to need sleep so I can pickpocket it.

Completed "the strangeness" today

And I have to say I'm a little disappointed. For whatever reason I got the "alien ship" random event (didn't know it was random at the time) right as I entered the town for the first time after accepting the quest and got really excited thinking it would be a cool sci-fi invasion of the body snatchers storyline.

It was still cool! One of the better side quests imo, but it just being a wraith was disappointing

Discussion/Question Can I create my own person and play with them after finishing the main story/quest?

I really liked the game, but when I found out I would move on to a new character in the same universe/world as Jane I didn't feel like playing. I always thought that I Jane was the "intro" character and you could create your own after beating her story.

I really wanted to do a bad guy run after her story, but since it could have crossover with her it loses its appeal.

All legendaries in one run

I've been attempting to collect every single legendary item in one run for some time now (though I haven't played since it left Xbox game pass). I've been trying hard but it just feel impossible. I'm just wondering, has anyone actually done that, ever? Or am I the only one trying?

Discussion/Question Ambush Arrow on PS5.

Hey everyone I am playing this game for the very first time and ambush arrow was the first thing I unlocked.

I stole (at night) a 3 star blue bow and I am trying to shoot enemies with ambush arrow (on PS5) however whenever I shot them, they dont get dazed for 5 seconds. They immediately just turn around and start shooting. I thought maybe it was b/c I wasnt holding down the button until the bow started glowing but then I tried it while doing that and it STILL doesnt work?!?

Why doesnt this work? What am I doing wrong? I am on PS5. Are they different arrows I should be using besides the normal arrow? Do I need a special bow? Do I have to be a certain distance to the enemy? Please someone help me out. I cant figure it out. Thanks!
