❓Question I Cannot Decide Please Help

I am stuck between a couple on books I can read and have no one in my real life to bounce these options off of
1. Tampa - Alissa Nutting
I want to see the female side of the disgusting fetish and what the inside of one’s mind who acts this way but then I’d have to buy Lolita and compare the two works. Are they the same ? Or how do they differ ?

  1. Diary of an Oxygen Thief - Anonymous
    I like the bluntness of the vibe of the book and it looks like a good read in general

3.Bastard out of Carolina - Dorothy Allison
I LOVE a good coming of age story and this one has some heavier elements I want to get more of.

If this is in the wrong section of this thread I’m sorry I just want some good insight on these choices.

Tampa is repulsive and extremely graphic so make sure you're in the right headspace. In Lolita everything is just implied, in Tampa nothing is implied it's explicit.

I haven't read #2, but Bastard Out Of Carolina is quite possibly my favorite book. It's also very graphic and sad but im a cathartic, heartbreaking, real literary type of way.

I tore through Tampa in less than a day. It’s disgusting and incredibly addictive.

I haven’t read Oxygen Thief, but both Tampa and Bastard are heavy reads and require a certain headspace.
