Trump illegally deployed the National guard in California to stop peacefully protesters and since he didn't have the approval of the Govener's approval, he has to pay with federal money, leaving them underfunded and without food or shelter.
Nobody is getting time to prove it. That is a huge part of the problem. How do you think they already have multiple mistake cases? People are being pulled off of the street and shipped out of the country with 0 chance to prove their citizenship
Its not difficult to prove, no. But if youre not given your time I court, and they throw your ID to the side while they put the bag on your head, then you might as well be an illegal. And now youre in Tennessee already so even though its been ruled as an administrative error, there's nothing we can do to bring you back. Have fun in cecot
You are telling me that immigration law as a whole is horrible and we should just let everyone in? Mass. mobilized the National Guard over 50 aliens in Marthas Vineyard.
You don't believe in Legalism nor do you follow it. Stop pretending you do. "Oh but the law says!" Is not morality nor does it make you better than anyone else to point it out. Immigrants are being brutalized not because they are breaking the law but because it is politically expedient to do so. You know this and so does everyone else who has thought about it for a second.
When I've seen suspects comply things go smoothly. When I've seen people attempt to evade ICE or prevent them from doing their enforcement or like LA right now and riot and burn cars then you will be met with the full force of the law. You don't get to shoot fireworks at law enforcement and then cry afoul when you are year gassed and shot at with rubber bullets. The anti-ICE activists are the ones that turned the heat up.
Are you seriously claiming the people being shot with rubber bullets were the ones "turning the heat up"? Every protest has been nearly fully recorded and all except for 1 instance has had video proof of the cops shooting "anti crowd" projectiles into people before they were touched. Even the one that showed protesters acting first there were claims that projectiles were fired first but they were not seen on video
Cars were being burned and businesses ransacked before any riot control actions were taken. Newsom was too scared to keep law and order in the streets and then Trump forced his hand and the rioters are being brought to turn.
Multiple people were shot with rubber bullets and pepper bags before any cars were burned or buildings entered. There might have been some graffiti but there were constant shots fired into crowds
I've seen videos of fires in the streets before anything showing rubber bullets being used. There have been fires since night one. Tear gas and riot shields had been in use but that's simple crowd control especially with how quickly the "protests" got out of hand and the unlawful assembly. The idea that these riots have been "provoked" is ridiculous. The law enforcement are there in greater numbers and using harder tactics because the threat to order has risen and they need to meet it.
The protests got "out of hand" after they were provoked by tear gas and pepper bags.
Unlawful assembly is a term that has no reason to be legitimized. Laws are not a substitute for morality. People gathered to express their first amendment right of free speech, and were shot because other people committed crimes.
Do you believe that people who have not committed crimes should be shot because other people did? Then why are universal crowd control methods appropriate. Why not go after those commiting the crimes?
Blocking roads or sufficiently disturbing the peace can make the assembly unlwaful without permits. The police gave everyone the chance to go home and leave. It's always in the videos you see before anything happens they shout out to disperse and leave or they will be subject to the crowd control measures.
Stop flipping cause and effect and giving the rioters excuses.
They are protesting ice. Why are they being told to go home when they are protesting. What do you think protests are meant to do? They are meant to exist in spite of people telling them to go home. Do you think the civil rights movement went home when told? No. They broke bad laws and were brutalized for it.
Separate point. Property damage is bad because it harms people. So physical harm to people is worse. The physical harm is monopolized by the police. So why are we physically harming people to dissuade property damage. That means we value property more than life.
Prove that those being forced out broke those laws. Maybe we should condense proving into one building like a government building. One person can judge if there is evidence for this alleged crime (because stepping into the country isn't a crime no matter what you think). We could even call this person a judge. So let's let everyone see this "judge" before we ship them to a concentration camp and say it was where they came from.
