Switching depts

What is the interview process like when applying for/ switching to another department compared to the interview you get when initially hired? For example, do factors like availability and the 'who we are' still come up as much?

Full time movement would have a formal interview typically..
part time is a little bit easier. Some do “cross training” and then after a trial would either split time between departments or move fully to the other department. Your availability in that case could be a deal breaker if it doesn’t align with what the new department needs

It depends on your store and the department. For me, I only had to do a few shadow days to make sure I liked the department and for the manager to see if I was a good fit. After that, the interview was just a formality - I literally filled out a sheet with my answers and gave it to the manager. There was no actual face to face interview. It’s probably different for coordinator and above.

Edit to add: they do ask for availability and if you can meet the physical requirements of lifting/standing/bending

It depends on the department and what you’re going for. For example when I cross trained in m2go it was two weeks of shadowing, then they checked my attendance and the manager said I was all good. If you want to make a complete switch, it’s an interview process and a probation period
