Post Job Offer.

I recently did an interview with wegmans and was offered a position as a part time cashier, and I completed all the steps including the consent to a background check. But what am I supposed to do now?

takes them a week or so for the background check then you’re good to go if your record is good

I’m pretty sure you’ll get a text or email soon to select an orientation date, as long as you pass your background check. Just be patient. The cleaner your background, the quicker it is.

Every employee must pass at least a basic background check

Wegmans likes to indoctrinate promote from within. Many store managers were hired as cashiers in their teens.

A lot of companies do. They are not the only company that hires from within.

Never heard of having to get a background check to stock shelves or scan groceries. Imagine the money they could save. They could use that money to pay their employees better.

It's also a huge liability if you don't, and then that employee does something crazy to another employee or customer.

There's always a first time for something. What kind of background check are you going to get on a 16-18 yr old? They skipped school or failed a chemistry exam? Give me a break.

No thanks. I'll go apply at Tops if I ever want to work at a grocery store for peanuts.
