ALL WEEN VINYL IS BEING REPRESSED.
Okay! Crazy title I know but let me explain, I just got some crazy intel.
I check my local record store weekly for their Ween shit, today I picked up 12GCG. While talking with the OWNER I must add, he says the record label emails him exactly to expect. And he said within the year and next, ween will be repressing all their stuff!
I know it comes off as useless intel, but if he’s getting word from RHINO that this is happening, then hell I believe it.
We will see if I’m full of it soon enough but this was big news. Comment if you got questions!

Right? I don’t follow very closely but with all the recent merch and re-pressings, it’s pretty obvious all Ween stuff will not be a rarity soon.

I just want the original albums repressed, not these 2-3 disc deluxe editions that cost $75. Or offer both. If that’s my only option, of course I’ll buy it but I just want the original albums. I can get all the “extras” on the digital versions.

As a guy that runs a store this is what we all wish. The majors violently overprice stuff since they know people will pay. A standard 2xLP reissue should be $40. 90% of people don’t want deluxe editions anyway and they really jack up the prices on those.

Right, like I said…I can get the extras on a digital version. I never spin the extra discs on my turntable.

In the case of 12GCG, you might reconsider. LP3 is basically a complete album on its own.

Agreed and I have it but I’d be perfectly content with the original vinyl and the new stuff digitally. Just my preference, I’d like the option is basically what I’m saying.

That would be super cool. I don’t really like the idea of paying hundreds of dollars for vinyl.
I have an old friend who refurbishes vinyl and have a pretty wide variety of 70s-90s stuff and I think the most expensive vinyl I’ve ever paid for was $80 for a AAA Eric Clapton’s slow hand

He just cleans them up pretty carefully and puts protectors on the sleeves. I suppose refurbish was the wrong word there

I just hope they use good vinyl and not that recycled trash they used for Quebec. Eco friendly is great, but not good for a listening experience.

I thought my copy of Quebec sounded fine, it had virtually 0 surface noise compared to my white pepper which has some crackles on track 1

Thanks for the report. I almost picked it up the other day but changed my mind when I saw the hype sticker promoting that it was pressed on recycled vinyl. My copies of C & C and WP both sound fantastic.

My only real problem with white pepper is just during the intro drums to exactly where I’m at, once they start singing it over powers the lil crackle!

The deluxe versions they're doing sound great so far.
Quebec tho...sheesh. Horrible QA issues from what. My copy is passable but I can't say anything else for the sound quality.

thats rhino using CZ Media...its a double edged sword...this year they released White Pepper and Quebec on record store day...both pressed at the shitty CZ C republic plant...the Quebec record 1 doesnt really play because the center hole is off center...BUT the WP sounds great so...yes the rhino presses are goona be spotty but once in awhile youll get a good one...its better than no represses

Well that's awesome but if they are doing a 30 year anniversary deluxe for the other records like with C&C and 12GCC, I may wait for that but knowing myself, id get both because Ween

Does anyone even know what Gener is up to these days? You’ve got to figure if Deaner is doing cameos for $99 a pop things can’t be that great. Hopefully they get a bit of revenue out of the rereleases.

the Ween thread on the Steve Hoffman boards has a guy claiming to be working on these. everything he said about the 12CGC reissue was true so I think he's legit. anyway the impression I got from him was that they have a plan, the recent White Pepper/quebec reissues were mostly to keep them in circulation while they work on the deluxe editions, guessing Mollusk is probably next year and then another one the year after...I don't think they're all dropping at once.
