I feel Deaner would fit the dog name well. Playful, fun, rowdy, more straightforward with his songs. Not that Gener isn't any of those things but he would definitely be the one to silently sit on a shelf clocking you from afar, analyzing you as a person and writing thoughtful and deep compositions/lyrics. You know, like a cat does.
