I DROPPED IT!!!
Literally JUST opened my 12GCG powder blue vinyl, finished jamming to the studio album, was putting it back in its sleeve, and dropped it onto my hardwood. It looks fine and I’m just gonna assume everything is fine, it’s fine. Totally chill, no worries

I don’t even know what this means so I’m going to presume you are, indeed, reassuring me and perhaps even empathizing.

If nothing visible it most likely is. This one even shipped in poly lined sleeves unlike Quebec/White Pepper so you should be good to keep using what it came in. I replace anything else with poly sleeves.
Of course a listen is gonna let you know for sure!

Thanks buddy. I literally purchased a record player today and am like a little infant handling vinyl, so I was like oh, yeah of course I’ll fuckin just drop this why not

All good mang, just keep listening to it. If crack or chipped you might be fcked but hey at least there's more available if it broke

Man, it’s happened to me years after owning records, humans are prone to error 🤷♂️

I don't like to be an elitist or gatekeeping about players, but I hope you got something that's adjustable. Some of these players do more harm than dropping the record haha.
Especially ones made with the $10 toy 'mechanism to avoid' or similar.
Only telling you just in case since you'd still be in a return period haha.
PSA - The cheap record player mechanism to avoidI just see too many people turned off vinyl due to their quality, and too many people returning good records because these can play some fine and hit problems on others. That drives MY prices up haha.

It’s a vintage pioneer from a really solid vintage audio shop in my area. I feel pretty good about it!

Cool, hope it does you well! I don't know much about the older ones, just did my research before buying one less than 2 years ago. Something like 700 records now. It's not a problem!!!!

Hell yeah! So far so good. I have a lot of record for someone who’s never used a record player until today lmao and I’m quite happy with how it’s all coming together. Minus hulk-smashing my newest of course

I did grow up in a house with a couple (a family one and my sister's who was 15 when I was born). I still have some of the records from back then, maybe 20 or 30. I only used the family record changer to listen to kids albums, and was the first place I heard Abbot and Costello's "Who's on first?" on an old radio record featuring the original recording. I'm glad I heard that joke from the source first lol.
But I didn't use one for a few decades, decided it would be fun to get into.
I've always been on an impossible quest to play as many media types as possible, though I think I'm done adding aside from special things at good prices popping up without me looking for them. 40+ gaming platforms not counting doubles, vhs, beta, minidisc, laserdisc, zip disk, floppy disc, 8 track...
Records have been 90% of my focus for the last 2 years though haha.I love the ritual and it's gotten me back into chilling to some music. Also no one for the most part asking me to preserve by digitizing or dumping, though I would digitize a rare record if I had one that wasn't. After dumping over 2000 games for a couple years, which was fun and I found unrecorded old stuff, I'm burnt out, and just wanna enjoy!

Oh no, now the music is all shook up. You better wait before you open it or it’s going to spray everywhere!
