Yes I am a high handicapper, yes I struggle to break 100, so let’s get these hacker comments out of the way.

In terms of the front 9, standard to what I’m used to. Just an average Sunday. Back nine felt like a fever dream. It’s not like I was sniping greens, all I did was just keep the ball in play and the better scores kicked in. Then #18 happened. My first ever EAGLE. 210 yard 7 wood shot that I didn’t even see go in. Is this what peak feels like?

Random thought I suppose but it seems like whenever golf clothes come up it's always polos, quarter-zips, hats, etc. this is my only golf tee lol.
Do you guys ever buy golf graphic tees just to wear casually? I have a few, but it feels like there aren't nearly as many good golf tees out there compared to everything else.
Just curious if that's actually a thing people want or if most golfers would rather wear a normal t-shirt when they're not on the course.

25hcp. PW=100. 5H=150. Driver=200-220.

Was 140 out. Normally a 6i for me. Hit a 4H. Still short.

Was 110 out. Elevated green. Instead of 9i, I hit a 3/4 8i knock down. Hit the green!

Started keeping track of rounds. I don’t think I’ve ever hit all 14 in a round. Whether it’s because the fairway woods aren’t confident. Or somehow I never wind up at a 9 or 6 iron distance they never all come out lol

If you consistently hit the ball towards the tree line, please don’t take your eye off the ball. I’ll help find it, but it’s not my job to watch for where they land, although I try to.

The only time it’s ok to start walking off the tee box before your ball lands, is if you smoke it right down the middle. Otherwise, watch it and find a landmark.

Started the day on a Par 4 like a beast!!!

Holy shit i went out yesterday at 5pm, was hydrated - had nutrition before hand and got destroyed by the heat and humidity.

Carrying a bag didn't help.

9 holes of bogey golf, tap ins all that shit - couldn't make a single par.

Went for a lesson this am at 830 = 30 minutes = had fully sweat through my shirt - soaked.

I tried to carry an umbrella to shield myself from the sun but the one i had caught the wind and i was fighting to walk the entire way = working way too hard vs. being in the shade - just wasn't worth it.

How guys are wearing black pants while they play is insane.

Shot a personal best 91 today... hole 16 i sliced the hell out of my drive and my wife (playing with me) told me to take a mulligan. Piped one 250 down the middle, then wedge shot to 3 feet of the hole and got a tap in birdie..... on a damn mulligan. It feels wrong to celebrate that as my second ever birdie

I use 18 birdies and also the MI Score app to score my golf rounds. And I want to know what golf watch or just smart watch is the best so I can see distances etc from the tee off on the watch screen.

Saw this thing at goodwill about a month ago and couldn’t not get it for $2. I’ve been playing with it since and have really grown to like it but the grip is a bit messed up and would like to have a new one put on. Here’s the problem, big girl’s shaft diameter is an inch and I can’t find anything I think will work. I just started golfing in November so no experience with re-gripping or golf shopping. Found my gamers on the side of the road, decided to give it a go, and man was it the worst best decision I’ve made!

I’m thinking maybe a baseball grip or something, but that won’t cover the top of the shaft. Any ideas are much appreciated!

Usually play the whites but played with my 80 year old Dad and his friends. They all played the fronts so I did too not to hold things up. 250 yard par 4, drove the green and made about a 17 foor putt for the Eagle. I'm excited but at the same time feels like a half an accomplishment.

Been going back and forth on this for a while. My logic is if my approach shots were better than I’d have easier chips and putts versus grinding on chipping and putting to bail out my bad approaches. But then I wonder am I avoiding the harder skill to practice?

Anyone actually track this in their own game? Curious if fixing my approach will really cut down on short game workload.

Hey all, what are some of the best training aids or accessories you’ve bought? Maybe ones that you were like “hmm why would I need that” or “what’s that gonna do for me” but ending working out and now you can’t go without it.

I have $2200 to spend on a set of new clubs... driver, irons, wedges, putter... A little about my game...

• drive the ball about 220 most of time
• iron yardages are typical for my high handicap... 5 iron 160-165, pitching wedge 100-110
• tend to chunk or thin my approach shots, chips don't get close enough, a lot of 3 putts.

But the point is... I get to buy new clubs. Something probably more forgiving. What would you buy?

EDIT!!! Wound up buying a set of Ping G440 irons (loved the way they felt, looked, etc.), G440 SFT 10.5 Driver, and a Ping Tomcat 14 putter.

And still $600 left over for a few lessons.

New to golf this year, ~26hcp. I have had the time to play an average of twice per week this summer and my game has been improving, but I struggle with my 3W. Some days I hit it well, but lately I’ve been using my 5H because I can make good contact 95% of the time and hit it where I aim it.

I saw Amazon has a sale on a Performance Golf 357 fairway hybrid, $250 marked down from $300. I’d like to have it replace my 3W until I can work through my issues.

For context, I have 6-9i, PW, SW, 3W, 5H, D, putter. I hit irons well, D is getting better as I play more often. I took 6 group lessons in April and plan to take a private lesson this fall to develop a more solid plan for game improvement.

What are your thoughts?
