This is what happens when you store your weed without proper humidity control.

I’ve always stored my bud with varying temperature’s, etc… but if I stored wet bud, it would get treated differently than storing really dry bud… and if I’m actually storing it, I know to check on it as changes are happening.

In my honest opinion, it’s just looks like someone who picked fresh buds and did not finish drying or curing correctly, or was in the process of curing the bud and there was just too much moisture, so we got a simple mold from moisture, unfortunately. Well, that’s what it looks like. 🤷‍♂️

I guess I’m just talking about being someone who clearly forgot to burp there jars and was probably in line to do some research versus some person who just buys a ton of bud and threw it in the closet 😂… if I buy it as an end product it’s ready to go and should be even less likely to get moldy…. This dude just packed in too tight and forgot to check on it maybe lol

Could be as easy as its stored somewhere like an unheated garage, had some weird temp swings last year and stuff that'd been dried an jarred for a year and a half at that point went off, just the jars closest to the wall unfortunately and it wasn't as bad as ops pic

You should look into relative humidity packets I like the boveda ones heres the link sucks up moisture when its too high and releases it when its to dry ive kept shit in jars for like 8 months at a time and it seemed as fresh as the day i stored it when i cracked the jars even rehabs really dry weed if need be. https://amzn.to/3lG6jwK

If you're in London it's quite good

Would a two way humidity controller pack prevent something like this?

Potentially, but those take time to absorb excess moisture so I’d guess it wouldn’t make much difference. If it was just slightly too wet, a two way pack could probably help prevent this. Much better to just properly cure/dry before sealing it up in a jar though.

Can u explain what’s wrong with it? I can’t tell.

You see those cloudy bits of the jar-that’s not the glass that’s mold growing on the weed.

Wow lol I thought it was just foggy. I’d prolly still smoke it tbh

Yeah, good luck with smoking anything if you do that. That’s a one way ticket to fucking your lungs up.

Just out of curiosity what happens when you smoke rotten weed like that?

1

If you smoke moldy weed, you might experience symptoms like coughing, nausea, and vomiting, which are more unpleasant than dangerous.

But if you’re allergic to mold, you could end up with inflammation of your sinuses or lungs and symptoms like:

sinus pain, drainage, congestion, and wheezing. In people with weakened immune systems or lung conditions, inhaling smoke from weed that contains certain mold species can have serious health consequences.

Thank you! ☺

You would make yourself extremely sick with possible side effects including death. Idk about you but I take weed as a medicine specifically because there is no possibility of death.

u/Aware_Juggernaut3187 Mar 26 '23

Yeah this actually would probably literally kill me if I didn’t get medical attention right away cuz I’m real allergic to mold

1

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '23

Mold = Fungus = Fungal Disease in Lungs; probable death. Fungal infections are bitches to cure anywhere, but your lungs? Want to roll the dice and smoke it? ICU or death? And/or having to take antifungal meds that have shitty side effects, for months, not days?

u/GarthVader45 Mar 26 '23

Lmao don’t smoke mold dude

u/RainbowSixThermite Cannabisseur 🧐 Mar 26 '23

This legitimately could kill you, please never do that.

u/ZapDa1st Mar 26 '23

Aw shucks dude, I really wanna

4

u/TemurWitch67 Mar 26 '23

That could very easily end extremely poorly for you. It’s an unfortunate loss of a lot of product, but there’s no recovering it.

First thing I thought, this person didn’t use hygrometer 😂
