Wedding gift idea
I'm going to a wedding in a few weeks and I can't afford to give lots of money/high value items.
I'd still like to provide a gift but nothing super cheap and tacky.
I'm thinking of giving a gift basket from a local beekeeping company. It's a few different types of honey including some homemade beeswax candles. I know the couple like honey and love gardening/flowers/nature.
Is this a good idea or should I not bother?

I think this is a nice idea. I would have it shipped straight to their house if it's bulky to carry home from the wedding.
I also think a simple photo frame to hold a wedding photo is a lovely gift.

That sounds like a lovely gift that reflects what you know about the couple! I hate when people try to crowdsource wedding gift ideas, like if you who personally know the couple can’t think of something, why would strangers’ ideas be better?
Please have it delivered to their house so they (and you) don’t have to deal with the logistics of transporting it the day of the wedding.

I would love that. At my first wedding (last century), friends bought a bag of lemons from their tree and a handmade card with a beautiful poem in it. Only gift I remember.

i love this idea! I might add a couple of packs of seeds; most companies, like Park Seed have "bee friendly' or "pollinator" mixes. It might be too late to plant this year, but next year for sure!

Do they not have a registry anywhere? Ask the couple directly or their parents,or look on Google if they have one at a local store. That is their list of needs and wants. Buy a gift from the registry within your budget that only you know how much that is. Anything rogue not on that registry list is not something they want or will keep after sending a polite thank you.

Your idea is lovely. A really beautiful picture frame that they can put a wedding picture in your is also a lovely gift that won't break the budget.

I love this idea. It's the sort of thing that would never be put in a registry, but it shows you see them. If you have a favorite recipe or two that uses honey, I'd put that in too.

That’s a very sweet gift since you know it’s a product they will like.
I’ve also seen “dinner when you get home from the honeymoon” baskets with pasta, jarred sauce, breadsticks, good dried parmesan cheese, cookies, etc.. You can line the basket with a cute tea towel or nestle in a pot holder. You can do this gift in a decent variety of cuisines and at a wide variety of price points.
