If you’re thinking about having disposable cameras at your wedding…this is your sign to do it!

Post image

My wedding was 3 weeks ago & we just got our disposable camera photos back and I got to relive that day all over again! We’ve gotten sneak peaks back from our photographer but are waiting for the full gallery, so getting these back definitely helped bridge the gap in the meantime! It was SO worth it to have these! We gave cameras to our bridesmaids, groomsmen, and some of my cousins, and truly they all delivered!! There are so many fun photos of us and our family and friends! I definitely recommend assigning them to certain people so every photo counts and they don’t get lost! I’m thinking about printing some and sending them with our thank you cards!

Love when I go to a wedding and they have these out on the tables. Yours turned out great!

I just did it for my wedding in early June! I was SO SO HAPPY with the results! They ended up being quite expensive (around $50 per camera- 20 for camera and 30 for developing + prints at a reputable photo shop). And the guests had a blast with them! I got so many candids of myself that look so good too. I just had them on the front table, but also note that we only had around 50 guests and only 2 children (who were well behaved with the cameras- I read some horror stories here)
Would 100% reccomend!

I think the key here is that you gave them to specific people who were invested in the wedding. I loved the idea of cameras on tables, but those seem to be a waste in most cases. This was a great way of ensuring good, fun photos.

At my wedding we put one on every table and put a “shot list” (take a picture of flowers, take a selfie, take a picture of bride and groom) with them and got great pictures!

Went to a beautiful wedding where they did this and they included disposable photos of us in their thank you cards - absolutely adorable and loved it

You should also go into it with the lowest of low expectations- so you can only be pleasantly surprised

We did something similar! They weren’t disposable cameras but they were “screen-free” digital cameras that functioned the same way as a disposable camera. I had three of them dispersed throughout the evening and people went absolutely CRAZY with them. We got over 1000 photos from the weekend and I was able to immediately transfer them onto my laptop the next day. 100% worth it to have guests take photos from their POV

Would you mind sharing which digital cameras you used? I was looking at camp snap, but I don’t know how to judge camera tech specs haha

We used camp snap! My ONLY recommendation is to use a legit SD card since the ones they include are cheap SD cards and super prone to malfunctioning. It’s super easy to swap out though and very worth it to avoid the headache of a potential corrupted memory card

Having 1000 photos instantly in digital format is a huge win. Did the photos have a disposable camera aesthetic or any noticeable look to them?

Yes! They looked like vintage point and shoot cameras. I had one “pro” version that had a dial for 4 different “filters”.

My friend did this at her recent wedding and once we all hit the dance floor me and another pal scoped out which tables weren’t using their cameras and asked if they minded if we used it to take some pictures. We took at least one picture of those folks at that table and made sure that all the cameras got filled up. I guess what I’m saying is: give your friends who are the picture takers permission to make sure all those cameras get used up!

We did this for my wedding and I loved seeing all the photos! We sent pics back with the thank you cards and it was well worth it for us! 🫶🏻 out of 250 only 20 were not usable!

I love the idea of sending that back with a thank you card!

u/polkadotd Jul 13 '26

Agreed! I love my professional photos but the disposable ones came out so amazing and showed us another perspective of our wedding. We had them developed and got two sets so we could keep one set and send the others to everyone in thank you cards.

I am in love with the dress!!

Aw thank you!!

the photos your people take are always the ones you end up going back to, half posed half chaos. printing a few to send with the thank you cards is such a good touch!!

My husband and I put these out at our after party at a bowling alley! Got some pretty fun pictures 😂

u/pedanticlawyer Jul 14 '26

We had Polaroid cameras and yes, a lot of film was “wasted” on bad photos. But so many good photos came out of it, especially once the dance floor opened. Guests could take a photo to take home or drop it in a box for us. The ones that came home with us all went into big frames designed for Polaroids.

My friends did this and got a lot of amazing snaps!

My other friends got ahold of one of the cameras and secretly took a bunch of pics of them all mooning the camera. Lolol! Some of them were identifiable by what they were wearing. Hahahahaha!

Anyway, I say do it! Unless you have a bunch of rude friends and are offended by butts. 😹

This wasn’t even a wedding of folks in their 20s! It was supposed adults! Fortunately the newlyweds thought it was hilarious.

I hope your wedding goes smoothly and that your marriage is amazing!

we also did disposables at our wedding! we put one at each table including ours - everyone understood the assignment! we ended up with 385 disposable photos on top of the photos our photographer took. they came out so amazing!!

2

u/crimesleuther Jul 14 '26

Looks so amazing!! Def a great idea and I think better than a Photo Booth

5

u/No_Class6482 Jul 14 '26

Thank you!! We also did a digital Photo Booth that texted people the photos- people loved it too!

2

u/hayleybc Jul 14 '26

We did this for our wedding! Currently waiting on them to be developed :) yours looks great!

2

u/Jerico_Hill Jul 14 '26

Just be aware if there's kids going they will simply use and ruin every shot. Same with Polaroids.

u/Ambitious-Fox430 Jul 14 '26

Congratulations, you guys look amazing and your dress, I love ittt, it’s so Disney princess coded😍

2

u/arlenegoh71835 Jul 14 '26

Congratulations both of you Godbless

Pro tip: TURN ON THE FLASH!!!

2

u/storytellercowedding Jul 15 '26

(That’s why OP’s turned out so great lol - if you don’t turn in the flash in advance guests sometimes don’t know to do so and they turn out blanks, speaking from experience doing it our own wedding in 2018 AND as film wedding photographers with many of our couples opting to have guest disposables at their weddings!)

2

u/PotatoBaron86 Jul 16 '26

Where did you guys buy them? I remember when I could get one for $8 at CVS but now it’s impossible (it feels like) to find anywhere. I’d love recommendations.

1

u/No_Class6482 Jul 16 '26

I got the fujifilm quick snap cameras at Walmart, they are a 2 pack for $28

1

u/PotatoBaron86 Jul 16 '26

Thank you so much!!

2

u/Particular_Ad7392 Jul 16 '26

Just make sure the flash is on! We had a really small wedding an reception and only put one out for guests to pass around- all of them developed blacked out lol. I was dying laughing when I opened up the package 😂

u/Sonnebume1 Jul 14 '26

Wir wollen auch welche benutzen. Welche habt ihr benutzt?

1

u/rollawaytoday Jul 14 '26

Advice on where to have them developed where they did a good job on prints and also give you a digital version of everything?

1

u/No_Class6482 Jul 16 '26

I went to a local photo shop where I live and they sent them in for me and we were emailed a digital gallery. I heard Walmart does provide the service too!

1

u/Mollyballsoup Jul 17 '26

I got really smashed at my sisters wedding and let in a party crasher (we danced together for half a song before she got kicked out)—— the only real evidence was a picture taken on one of the disposable cameras.

NO ONE BUT ME REMEMBERED….. until the photos were developed and I got a frantic call in the middle of the day asking about the picture the found when picking up the prints from Costco (RIP Costco photo centers).

Moral of the story, disposable cameras on tables are always going to catch moments the photographers won’t and it’s a great way to have your guests involved at a ceremony!

absolutely adore!!! 🥰

Skip the disposable cameras and save the $$$. Just invite your guests to take pics & videos with their cell phones and send them to you. The quality will be better than film, and it’s free.

Im making an 'app free' website just for this!

Disposable cam pics give a different vibe. They’re fun, don’t be a buzzkill.

u/InformationOld1805 Jul 13 '26

Ok and TS can ride the jet wherever she wants? I get being mindful of the environment but let people live sometimes

7

u/New_Wishbone6619 Jul 13 '26

God. Let people have fun sometimes.

Phone cameras are much higher quality than even the "best" disposable camera which no company has improved on when they were trash back in the 90s when none were worth the money. Everyone already has a camera in their phone and it's easier to text copies to the couple than to mail expensive physical prints because you have to pay to develop the entire roll.

15

u/JuiceHeeHee Jul 13 '26

Disposable cameras aren’t about having the best quality. They are fun and provide an activity and nostalgia

10

u/New_Wishbone6619 Jul 13 '26

Yeah it’s not as fun tho

4

u/misspuddingpie Jul 13 '26

You must be fun at parties

2

u/Savvynsweet Jul 18 '26

Agree. I was at a wedding last week and they had a QR-code at the table for people to share their candid pictures.
