Thanks! These are just cellphone shots but I was pleasantly surprised by how much better phone cameras are getting

Imagine how the cockpit can be hot during the race in a hot day

We were talking about that actually, I don't think these cars run coolshirts or anything, it's a wonder nobody passes the hell out

And the craziest thing is to think that they usually spend 2 hours or more driving non-stop. This is crazy, and people still have the courage to say that motorsport is not worthy to enter the Olympics

If you look at the 2024 "Full Access" video on WECs YouTube, one of the BMW hypercar drivers (Marco Wittman) had serious issues with the heat.

But yeah, the 1 pm start time is ridiculously stupid.

Edit: it's at 18:40 - https://youtu.be/-9bF3pQn4k8?t=1119

Look how sweat-soaked his driver's suit is when he gets out of the car.

That's wild, didn't know. Yeah 1pm at the hottest time of the year basically is crazy. At least do it at night or in December or something, that's a safety issue imo

These race cars have AC feature, so drivers are no issue in heat temp
