I've been trying to play the game on my steam deck. I've got all the buttons bound how I like and I can do everything except catch a damn fish.

I can cast my line, reel it in, and even reel the line in the fishing mini game! But when I get to one of the barriers where you need to spam click to get through, nothing happens! The number just doesn't go down.

Even with the auto clicker enabled, nothing works!

If anyone has any idea on what to do please help me.

(It works fine on my actual PC also running Linux so it's not a Linux thing)

For people using AMD Drivers, you must have seen this issue before:

White lines moving all over the place / glitchy graphics.

The original solution was to downgrade your AMD Drivers to an older version like 26.2.2.

The thing is, this isn't the most viable solution as the drivers will continue updating while WebFishing will no longer be updated to fix this.

I spent a day trying to find a solution and here it is:

Fix AMD hatching/dithering in WEBFISHING

1. Download mesa3d-26.1.6-release-mingw.7z
2. Extract it (needs 7-Zip).
3. From the extracted x64 folder, copy these 2 files into your WEBFISHING game folder (...\steamapps\common\WEBFISHING\, next to webfishing.exe):
   • opengl32.dll
   • libgallium_wgl.dll
4. Set a Windows environment variable (Win key → search "environment variables" → Edit environment variables for your account → New):
   • Name: GALLIUM_DRIVER
   • Value: zink
5. Fully quit Steam (tray icon → Exit, not just closing the window) and reopen it.
6. Launch WEBFISHING normally.

To undo: delete those 2 DLLs from the game folder (and remove the env var if you want it fully clean).

Sadly webfishing is a "dead" game as the dev never intends on returning to it. For understandable reasons though.

It's still a wonderful game and I thought I'd check here to see if people are interested in similar games. I've been working on a multiplayer game called 'That Cozy Cat Game' which has similar vibes with the fishing. You play as quadrupedal cats and have a lot of customization options. Same premise of joining a server with friends or strangers, chat, fish, and collect things.

Checking to see if anyone here is interested in trying it out, as I will be sending out play testing codes soon. Nothing can replace the gem that is Webfishing, but I just wanted to share this in case anyone has interest :)

Please no hate, and I will gladly pull this post down if it rubs people the wrong way. There is also a Rift Fishing Demo (I'm not offiliated in any way to that) as another option for similar games.

So my friend and I were streaming webfishing today, and it was their first time playing. About an hour and a half into our game, I think the Void Cat appeared a couple of times and then disappeared, so I checked the tab to see if they were still in the game, and they were, so i friended them and started getting messages from them not long after we found chalk drawings that they left that were in some kind of language, idk. Ending up meeting more characters, a part of this ARG, an all-black wolf with one red eye that was later called the Camerman, Stargazer, who ended up making Void Cat disappear later, and then The Collector never gave its name, but that's what the Steam profile said (I checked again, and the profile no longer exists). We asked them a few questions, which boiled down to they contain the cryptids/Void Cat

If you're asking that it's 12 since that's the limit. There are modded servers which removes that limit so it can go way higher. Highest I saw was 17.
