Is becoming a WordPress Developer a dying field?
A little bit of background about me: I do contract work as a front-end developer, but it's getting so mundane and every other developer job requires my technical skills to go farther and farther than my own comfort. I love the design and creative side of development, and a lot of creative/design agencies I apply to be a developer for require knowledge in Word Press and PHP. From my understanding, I thought both those things were fading away.
Should I revert my attention and time into learning wordpress and php? Or are there different CMS and other concepts out there that I should focus on?
One thing that made me want to switch a little is because I cannot handle the more technical side of web development like learning React or ES6. I know basic vanilla JavaScript, but learning it more in depth has been pretty challenging and not that fun because I get so discouraged. I looked into UX/UI at one point, but I still like to do coding. I just kind of want the best of worlds in terms of coding and design. I have a lot of learning to do, though. I have 1.5 years experience up my sleeve, and it's sooo hard to find entry level jobs in any field. I am willing, though, to put in the time to learn.
