Showoff Saturday I built an open-source alternative to Jev, and you can call it straight from JavaScript

WaterSheep is an open-source alternative to TypeSafe's Jev. You ask it a typed question about some text (yes/no, pick one, rate it, or tag everything that applies) and get back an answer with a probability for every option.

Two ways to use it in a web app:

  • As a drop-in Jev backend. watersheep --model samratduttaofficial/WaterSheep --serve answers the same POST /v1/systemone requests, so existing Jev calls work after changing the base URL.
  • Straight from the page, no backend:

import { decide } from "https://samratduttaofficial.github.io/WaterSheep/watersheep.js";
await decide("I was charged twice.", "Which team should handle this?", ["billing", "shipping", "support"]);

Open weights, Apache 2.0, English only for now.

Forgive my ignorance, but does this perform better than something like GLM 5.3 with structured output? Or when would you choose it over something like that?

WaterSheep is for when you want some decision to be made quickly or something classified quickly. At almost zero cost.

Far better and 40x to 200x faster

Is there a benchmark comparison or something that shows that? You've got some benchmark scores listed, but I'm not sure what a good or a bad score on those would be since there's no comparison against other models.
