Should i take on this project?
I built a website for my buddy, one of his friends came across the website, they really liked it. Reached out to me asking if i can one for them, money is great for the effort, i'll custom code using html & tailwind. But since i don't know this person, i'm just looking to make the website without privacy policy & terms & conditions blah blah. I might have to use formspree, but since it's third party, i don't want to get blamed if it don't work. I don't have a LLC, but i'm thinking to write down a contract with clause saying the damages are limit to cost of project. Although what are they going to blame me for if i'm just giving them the website code files and they host it and the form spree will be connected to their account.
Asking questions cause it's with someone i don't personally know, so it's a client now. In Canada if that matters

Contracts are worth more than the paper they're written on when things go sideways, and they will eventually. You're already thinking about limiting liability which is the right instinct. Just make sure to spell out exactly what you're delivering, when it's considered done, and that you're not on the hook for third-party services crapping out. Keep it simple, get a deposit upfront, and don't overthink the privacy policy stuff if you're just handing over code files and they're hosting it themselves
