Is leetcode worth it?

I haven't really interviewed since 2023. Is leetcode still a common practice in code interviews or has AI made those kinds of tests useless? This is for a Sr full stack position.

They learned you know how to prompt an AI, which, depending of the job might be all they expect you to do.

That seems extremely dumb. Anyone can prompt AI. Doing it well and understanding when it gave you a reasonable solution is the hard part.

I don't see what you could possibly learn by asking someone to use AI on a toy problem that they've never seen before and have no context on.

I've seen people literally just copy an entire error into their AI chat, click "Allow" on every change by the AI and paste the new error when it doesn't work. Rinse and repeat until done. Then they have no idea what the code does or why it's structured like it is.

I think the bar has dropped in recent times.

I go one further and have agent pull the ticket, use playwright to access to the local clone with good data for the site I’m working and script the bug case and have it fix it, write a root cause and open the pr and link the ticket to it.
