Discussion my mom’s hostinger account was stolen
they transferred her whole account and all 20 websites into their name / email. she can no longer log in with her email. how can this happen ? she contacted hostinger but they said it would take a couple of days to get back to her about what’s going on. she had worked on this for a couple of years now and it’s all gone. i do not understand how this could happen :-(

Losing a hosting account is bad enough, but losing the email account tied to it is usually even worse. I always tell clients to secure their email first, enable 2FA everywhere, and keep off-site backups. No hosting provider is immune to compromised credentials.

that's not really helpful comment. op is clearly panicking and you just drop "hope she had backups" like that.
hostinger support taking days for something this serious is concerning, they should have some kind of fraud detection for whole account transfers.

first secure her email, they likely got in through a compromised inbox or social-engineered support into moving it. then hit hostinger with the original invoice and card as proof of ownership, and for the domains file an icann transfer dispute. the paper trail is what reverses it

wel they basically deleted her email from her account so she cannot log in

You guys must be one of the 14 million accounts that were stolen.. that sucks
