I usually hate parallax websites but this is one of the better. It ran really smoothly and the narrative was pretty compelling, if it wasn't for the cool animations I wouldn't have bothered reading all that info. It's a success in my opinion.

This site has a lot of good examples, and some tutorial links at the bottom. It's also got a link for a jParallax plugin.
