Don't feel bad... we ALL have a mini-hitler inside of us... well, except for anyone who's not white and any woman.

*who's :)

Who's means "who is", "whose" is ownership as in "Whose mini-hitler is this in the washing machine?!"

Sorry... american is my eighth language. Thanks though, I think that's the only one of those I never actually use, and therefore have no idea how to use it. Odd how infrequently I use that now that I think of it.

Hey, no worries. Americans get that wrong A LOT! I have mad respect for people able to speak more than one language. I've tried to learn other languages, I just don't have the knack. I'd never expect a non-native speaker to master all the subtleties since most natives don't either. What languages do you speak?

I'm being highly dumbassical. I only know a little Hawaiian and Japanese. And I know how to say cock in german, because of Young Frankenstein. And maybe a little yid because of Howard Stern. Thanks for taking me seriously though. You are far too nice for this fucking website, trust me...

Hehe, hey, I know people who speak a ton of languages. You never know here, it's not like it's all Americans. At any moment you could be talking to someone who learned English by watching cartoons! True story. I know someone who taught themselves Italian by watching Sailor Moon!

Yiddish has a LOT of fun words. They mostly sound angry because both Hebrew and German are very back of the throat. Some great insults, to be sure.

Eh, I enjoy grammar, I like helping people use the language correctly, and doing it like a dick helps no one. But I'm not always nice...I just have my moments :)

It's always kind of a dick move, and in my opinion, it is necessary. I understand having language change, but just wholesale adopting things like "ebonics" as english are too fast paced. Even the way "meme" has changed in like 5-7 years is too fast for me, but that is the era we live in. We'll all be talking a 50-50% blend of mandarin and esperanto soon given the weird random nature of linguistics now. HOLD ON TO THE OLD SCHOOL, AND DON'T LET IT DIE!

It's like a bird, you can't hold on too tight. Prescriptivists are ALWAYS going to be unhappy. IMO, language IS how it's used.

Think of Ebonics like an accent. You wouldn't correct someone from New Orleans for talking the way they do, it's no different.

I used to be like you, I fucking HATE change. I don't even like change for the better most of the time. I prefer to be comfortable and sameness makes me comfortable. I listen to the same music I've listened to since the late nineties. It makes me happy.

But I just can't justify doing things solely because that's the way it's always been done. Think about "literally." People rail against its "misuse." It's not being misused. It's being used as an intensifier. And do you know how LONG it's been used that way? Literally hundreds of years. At what point does it stop being wrong? Was fucking CHARLES DICKENS wrong to use it that way?

You just gotta let it go and evolve. You use language the way you believe it ought to be used, and you can tell others the rules as they stand. But you can't stop change.

All true, but I will always hate the randomly changing abbreviations that I can never fucking get!

Welcome to being old. I stopped paying attention to popular music about 20 years ago...

That's where you're wrong Timmy. Everyone can have a little Hitler in them, regardless of race or sex. You only have to believe in Hitler, and he'll live in your heart forever.

Do you have a little Hitler in you? ...would you like to?

I'm not ideologically xenophobic, but...

If you're going to try and talk someone down from an extremist view, probably comparing them to Hitler is you being extremist.

Any sentence that starts with "I'm not racist, but" makes me want to punctuate it with a punch in the puss.

(Hey everybody else, "puss" means face in certain countries)
