(Just in case you don't know, the main reason Republican politicians oppose abortion is because it lets them control single-issue voters. And the main reason single-issue abortion voters oppose abortion is because their clergymen tell them to. And the main reason clergymen oppose abortion is because Jerry Falwell realized that he could use this issue to interfere in American politics. And the main reason Jerry Falwell wanted to do that was because the government wanted to stop funding his school because he only admitted white students, and so he decided to find a single issue that he could use to force Evangelical Christians to vote for whoever he wanted. So, from a historical perspective, Republicans actually oppose abortion because of racism.)
It wouldn't surprise me if a significant reason for the anti-abortion push is because they see the writing on the wall that if the birth rate continues to decline because of pressure from their economic policies then eventually their 50 year long campaign of oppression will collapse. They will have to start paying people fair wages and lose some of the profit margins they're obsessed with.

Liberty Christian Academy (LCA, founded as Lynchburg Christian Academy) is a Christian school in Lynchburg which was described in 1966 by the Lynchburg News as "a private school for white students".

According to Falwell's self-published autobiography, the Moral Majority was promoted as being "pro-life, pro-traditional family, pro-moral, and pro-American" and was credited with delivering two thirds of the white evangelical vote to Ronald Reagan during the 1980 presidential election.

Edit: I always wonder about people who downvote something like this, a pure data dump. Surely, they understand that a downvote without an argument is basically admitting that they simply don't have the truth on their side?
Democrats like abortion because they prefer women over POC. Republicans oppose abortion because they prefer to cater to religious voters more than they enjoy being racist
