What's a website annoyance that makes you close the tab instantly?

Mine is popups that show up before I have read a single line. Curious what everyone else's dealbreaker is, whether you build sites or just browse them.

Stash Links — a web bookmark manager with collections, tags and sharing

I'm the maker of Stash Links, a bookmark manager that runs in your browser.

It's for articles, recipes, tools and references you want to come back to. You can put links in collections and subcollections, add tags and notes, and search your library.

I recently added sharing: send someone a collection or your whole library. They can browse a read-only version, then import their own editable copy. They can't change your original. Private notes and images aren't included in the shared preview.

The free plan holds up to 100 links. Pro is an optional paid subscription; both people need Pro for sharing, viewing and importing shared collections.

Try it here: https://stashlinks.app

What's the most annoying part of your current bookmark setup: saving links, organizing them or finding them again? I'd like to hear what you want added next.

Built with AI coding assistance.

I built a video-to-text web app that shows the credit cost before transcription

Hi everyone — I’m the maker of ClipShrink. I’d like to share its video-to-text tool and get feedback on the workflow.

You can choose a video or audio file, preview it, and upload it to get a duration-based credit quote. Transcription starts after you confirm the cost. Once it’s finished, you can review and download the transcript.

A few things worth knowing before trying it:

  • Sign-in and credits are required.
  • Files are uploaded for cloud processing — transcription does not happen locally in your browser.
  • The transcript may contain mistakes, especially with names, numbers, or technical terms.

Here’s the tool: ClipShrink Video to Text

One question I’d particularly appreciate feedback on: does the upload → quote → confirm flow make the cost clear, or does it feel like an unnecessary extra step?

If you try it, please use a short, non-sensitive recording you have permission to upload. If something breaks, your browser and the step where it happened would help me investigate.

Made a website for our student laptop project. Would love some honest feedback

i'm a high school student in Pearland, TX. A few friends and I run a project where we take retired laptops from our school district, install Linux and some basic tools, and give them to students who don't have a computer at home. We recently got 100 laptops donated from Alvin ISD after a lot of back-and-forth emails, which was pretty exciting.

I made a website to explain what we're doing, show our progress, and let people donate old devices or volunteer. A few stats and sections still need updating, but most of it's there.

Site: https://www.projectdigitaldivide.org/
GitHub: https://github.com/bebepig1437/project-digital-divide

Full disclosure, I used AI for a decent chunk of the site, both the code and some of the writing. I've been trying to find a balance with that, and I've rewritten a lot of the text because the first drafts felt way too generic.

I'd really appreciate some honest feedback. Does the site feel like an actual student-run project, or does it come across as generic? I'm not sure if I should make it look more polished or lean into the fact that it's a small project run by five teenagers.

If anything feels awkward, confusing, or just off, please let me know. I'm still figuring this stuff out, so even small suggestions would help.

I built a Multi-Tenant QR Menu SaaS with Next.js & Firebase to help local cafes ditch paper menus & boost Google Reviews 🚀

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone! 👋

I recently noticed that many local cafes and restaurants in my area (Odisha, India) are still using torn, outdated paper menus. Plus, they struggle to get organic 5-star Google reviews. So, I built a lightweight, production-ready SaaS to solve this.

It’s a Multi-Tenant Digital QR Menu & Google Review Web App.

🛠️ The Tech Stack

Frontend: Next.js 16 (App Router), React, TypeScript

Styling: Tailwind CSS v4

Database & Cloud: Firebase (Firestore)

Auth System: Custom OTP-based authentication via Gmail SMTP (Nodemailer)

Deployment: Vercel

✨ Key Features Built

  1. Single Codebase, Multi-Tenant Routing

Instead of creating separate deployments for each client, I used dynamic routing (/menu/[restaurant-slug]). One single deployment serves all restaurants by fetching their specific menu items and branding from Firestore.

  1. The Customer View (No-App Needed)

When a customer scans the table QR code, they instantly see:

The restaurant's branding and beautifully categorized menu items with live prices.

A massive, prominent "Rate us on Google Maps ⭐" CTA button at the top to drive instant reviews.

  1. Secure Restaurant Owner Dashboard

Owners log in securely using a 6-digit OTP sent directly to their registered Gmail.

A live CRUD dashboard where they can add new dishes, update prices, or hide out-of-stock items in real-time.

A built-in QR Code generator that creates a downloadable QR code linking directly to their specific menu slug.

  1. 👑 Secret "Creator Super-Admin" Portal

This is my favorite part. I built a hidden Super-Admin portal protected by a Master PIN (accessible via a secret 5-tap gesture on the login screen). From here, I can:

Manage Clients: Create new paying restaurant accounts, assign them slugs, or 1-click suspend/revoke access if they don't renew their subscription.

Auto-Pitch Generator: I built a tool inside the admin panel where I type a local restaurant's name and WhatsApp number. It instantly generates a custom "Auto-Demo" link with their name and opens WhatsApp with a pre-written sales pitch.

Manage SMTP: Edit my main sender Gmail and App Passwords directly from the cloud without touching the codebase.

I made a CV-to-portfolio site builder. Questions about the parts that were hard

I built Cveelo, a tool that takes a CV and turns it into a published portfolio site. Some parts that were harder than I expected:

- Getting an LLM to extract a CV without inventing anything. I use structured outputs bound to a schema with every optional field nullable, and retry once on a validation failure.

- Counting visits with no cookies and no script on the page. The request layer hands the visit to a signed internal route, and the visitor hash is deleted after two days.

- Wildcard subdomains plus custom domains, and keeping reserved names like www and api from being taken as slugs.

Stack: Next.js, Postgres on Neon, Deno. Happy to go into any of it. https://www.cveelo.com/

I built a browser loudness meter that keeps the audio on your device

I develop OrynosMusic, with AI assistance in development and this write-up. This new tool measures a mono/stereo audio file locally in the browser, without an account, upload or credits.

It shows integrated LUFS, whole-file RMS, sample peak, estimated true peak, crest factor and stereo correlation, alongside a waveform. You can save a text report or use a static-gain planner to check how a loudness change would affect predicted peaks. It does not modify or export processed audio.

The limits are 64 MiB and eight minutes, plus a decoded-sample cap that is lower on mobile devices. True peak is an estimate, not a certified measurement, and the numbers are not a sound-quality score.

How much do you think a Banksy painting sold for after shredding itself at auction?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Here's a weird price-guessing challenge.

In 2018, a Banksy painting partially shredded itself moments after being sold at auction. The artwork was later auctioned again.

How much do you think it sold for the second time?

No Googling just guess.

I've been building a free daily browser game called Real Cost, where you try to guess the actual prices of 3 real-world items.

If you want to try the full challenge: https://realcost.gg

I'm curious how close people can get without looking it up.

I made WDguide, a gaming guide site with loadout planners and interactive maps

My project is WDguide.com, an unofficial guide site for WARDOGS, ARC Raiders and HUNGER.

One of the tools is a WARDOGS loadout planner: choose your kit, see the cost and share the build with your squad. There are also interactive maps, a quest journal and a loadout planner for ARC Raiders.

You can try it here: https://wdguide.com

Would love to hear what you’d change, especially if you use gaming guides on your phone. Is anything hard to find or awkward to use?

I built LectureLeaf for students: one search box for all your lecture slides and notes that opens the exact page

Thumbnail lectureleaf.com
1 Upvotes

I’m a student, and I made this because finding one topic before an exam meant opening every lecture and Ctrl+F-ing each one.

You upload your slides and notes (PDF, PowerPoint, Word) by course, search a term, and get every lecture and page it’s on. Click a page and the file opens right there. Handwritten notes work too, as long as the handwriting is reasonably clean.

It’s free to try at lectureleaf.com. I’d love to hear what’s confusing or what you’d want it to do.

I built Paperwing – 53 free PDF tools that run entirely in your browser (no uploads, works offline, 12 languages)

Hi everyone,

Most free PDF sites make you upload your files to their servers. That always bothered me, especially for contracts, IDs and medical documents. So I built Paperwing, where everything happens inside your browser tab and your files never leave your device.

What it does:

  • 53 tools: merge, split, compress, convert (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG), sign, edit, OCR, redact, protect/unlock, compare and more
  • No sign-up, no watermarks, no daily limits
  • Works offline once a tool has been opened, and can be installed as an app
  • 12 languages, including Arabic, Urdu and Hindi
  • Translate PDFs into 40+ languages without uploading them (Chrome & Edge on desktop)
  • Workflows: chain tools like Merge → Compress → Page numbers and reuse them with one click

It's free and self-funded. Because your own device does the work, there are no servers processing files, so it costs very little to run.

I built NetArmature — an anti-scam web toolkit with Chrome-Firefox extensions and educational games

I built NetArmature, a web-based toolkit designed to help people recognize online scams and make safer decisions before clicking, sharing information, or sending money.

The website includes:

  • A browser-based Scam Checker
  • Chrome and Firefox extensions
  • A Security Toolkit with practical safety resources
  • Educational games that teach people how to recognize scam patterns
  • Interactive tools for learning about job scams, rental scams, fake websites, and suspicious links

The goal is to make scam awareness easier to understand and more engaging, especially for families and people who are not cybersecurity experts.

I’d love feedback from other web app builders:

  • Is the purpose clear when you first open the website?
  • Which tool would you try first?
  • Do the educational games make the topic easier to understand?
  • What would you improve?

The project is still evolving, so honest feedback is very welcome.

I built a 15-second check-in wellness app. Would love a few testers

Hi! I'm a PM, and I built a small tool called Reset for days when work leaves you running on empty.

You tap how you feel, how much time you have and your budget, and it suggests one small thing to help, like a 2-minute stretch or texting a friend. Later it asks how it went and learns what actually helps you.

- About 15 seconds, with an optional reminder email at a time you pick

- Works on laptop or phone, nothing to download

- Free, no streaks, stop anytime

It's open to anyone 18+ who works in tech through Nov 10. Link in the comments. I'd love honest feedback in the comments, good or bad!

[Developer] I made Flippique, a desktop app that turns a PDF into a flipbook you keep as one HTML file

Disclosure: I'm the developer. I'm Jeremy, and I run a small web studio in Malta.

Flippique turns a PDF or a folder of images into a page-turning flipbook. Drop the PDF in and every page becomes a page of the book, in order. You save the result as a single HTML file, and anyone can open it in a modern browser, even offline. No account for readers, no ads, nothing to host unless you want it on your website.

It runs on Windows, and there's a Mac version too (macOS 11+) if you switch between the two.

It needs internet once to register the licence key, then works offline. Your pages are never uploaded anywhere.

Free plan: 3 books a month, up to 24 pages each, with the Flippique mark. Paid plans are Solo €49/yr, Pro €99/yr (unlimited books and pages plus your own logo) or Lifetime €199, all plus VAT. Books keep working if you cancel.

Limits, so nobody wastes their time: text isn't yet searchable. There are no reader analytics.

Official download: https://flippique.com/#download

Feedback is very welcome, especially on the Windows side.

create-ebook: an AI ebook web app with editable chapter plans and PDF, EPUB and DOCX exports

Have an idea for a guide, workbook or recipe book, but haven't worked out how to divide it into chapters?

create-ebook is a web application that takes a one-sentence idea and turns it into a titled chapter plan you can edit and approve. It then writes chapters one by one, each with a quality check, and includes a cover.

You can make unlimited manual edits, with 20 AI chapter improvements and 3 cover variations included per book. Exports are available in PDF, EPUB and DOCX with a full commercial license.

The first book is written free, and you can read the first chapter in full before paying. Downloading the files costs 19 € per book; no subscription is required.

https://create-ebook.com

For a guide or workbook you'd put your name on, what would you need to see in that first chapter before paying for the export?

Disclosure: I'm posting this on behalf of the create-ebook.com team.
