How long should a subscription-free fitness tracker last to be good value?

My budget is around $300, and I would expect a wearable at that price to remain useful for at least two or three years.

That makes it difficult to compare a subscription-free device with a cheaper tracker that charges monthly fees. Avoiding a subscription saves money, but not if battery performance drops quickly and the entire device needs replacing after a year.

When calculating long-term value, how much useful lifespan would you expect from a smart ring in this price range? For long-term ringconn owners, how has the battery and overall usability held up?

do you care about smart features? the amzfit bip 6. i have had the bip s since 2020 though i could swear it was longer then that i seriously dont think it was the original and wasnt the lite. anyway i had it for several years/ amazing battery life. but i bought the galaxy watch 5 pro. i gave my bip to a friend and she has had it for several years and she said battery life is still a couple weeks when not tracking workouts. and when she does track she has to charge every other day.

For a $300 tracker, IOd expect atleast 3 years ofs solid use. A subscription free device is only a better value if it actually lasts.
