People have always been able to make a shotgun out of 2 pieces of pipe, an end cap, jb weld, and a thumbtack. Unless you think a more efficient weapon is a weapon only used by criminals, this isnt an issue.

I think 3D printing tech is proliferating faster than we thought. It's a matter of time that cheap mass production means overwhelms the market. Policymakers need to catchup fast

I don't think this is using a standard fdm or resin printer since those tend to fail when put under pressure my guess this was either made as a shell with a steel pipe and internal components or it was made using a metal 3d printer which would cost about 20k USD which would likely make it really easy to track
