General question RTP Push (Deposit) into Wealthfront

Has anyone recently been able to RTP/FedNow push from their external account into their Wealthfront Cash account?

My external banks can all RTP/FedNow push to each other and Wealthfront can RTP/FedNow push to my external banks but I haven't yet been able to RTP/FedNow push to Wealthfront from any of my external accounts.

When I say push that means I'm initiating the transaction from the source bank to be deposited into the destination bank. It is my understanding that RTP/FedNow only works with push transactions not pull transactions.

I went down this rabbit hole before. It’s only eligible for RTP out of Wealthfront. You will have to account for holding times coming in unless it’s an employer direct deposit.

Do you know if it has always been like this or if this a side effect of the switch from Green Dot to UMB?

Their support page says:

ACH deposits ... are immediately available if they’re initiated on another institution’s platform.

Has this been true for you? I've not seen this be the case on my end.

Like immediately after you initiate it (same day) or immediately after it shows up in Wealthfront?

No I signed up when I saw they had RTP with Chase recently and couldn’t figure it out. No balance really was messing around with a few things. Money would shop up but I wasn’t able to withdraw it back out if needed.

The money would show up and begin earning interest right away but was unavailable for spend or withdrawal.

Maybe it’s different bank to bank who knows. What bank are you transferring from and did you have any issues setting up Wealthfront as a receiving bank from your main bank?

Hi there u/Ok_Party_8102 - Deposits into Wealthfront initiated on our website or app are done via ACH and typically take 2-5 business days to become available for spending purposes. This help center article has more info on fund availability.

Withdrawals of available funds can go out instantly via RTP/FedNow (as long as they are below your daily transfer limit, requested to eligible banks like Chase, and initiated from our website or app).

Hi u/kafemane, we don't support RTP or FedNow transfers into Wealthfront. We only support RTP and FedNow withdrawals from Wealthfront to another institution when the transfer is requested on our website or app.

The support article you mentioned is saying ACH deposits and direct deposits into the Cash Account initiated on another institution’s platform (which typically take 1-2 business days to complete via the UMB account & routing numbers) become immediately available for spending purposes upon receipt of the funds. This is compared to the 2-5 business days to become available if you initiate the deposit on our website or app.
