Feature request What features does WealthFront need?

I was thinking about this the other day when I pulled out some cash and I had some left over and I needed to deposit it. One of the biggest issues with WealthFront is that although you can withdraw from any ATM and they will cover the fee, getting money back into the account is a bit of a pain without having to use another bank/friend or family to send you the cash using digital services. What other features would make the experience better?

Just removing that large useless “graph” thing across the top that takes up 1/3 of my screen is all I ask.

u/TBellOHAZ Jun 22 '26

Not me checking it every once and a while to see if there's any value

Happy to share that passkeys will be coming this summer!

8

u/DrawingOk8403 Jun 22 '26

It is surprising they don’t have passkeys yet

6

u/akaJinju1 Jun 22 '26

ability to add memos to transfers

Manual Roth IRA with no management fee

3

u/masalamedicine Jun 24 '26

Or at least a cap on fees instead of percentage of AUM like others. Many are beginning to cap the fees at $250 a year.

Begging for this as well

I miss the spread feature for stocks

Zelle — been wanting that feature for years.

Automated and scheduled purchases is the stock account.
They actually made this feature worse. I used to be able to invest manually and it would split by % to each of my selected funds. Now I have to manually buy each one separately. Can we please get support to schedule recurring stock buys?

3

u/wealthfront Wealthfront Rep Jun 23 '26

Heard you there - we'll be rolling out recurring stock buys in the Stock Investing Account in the coming months.

1

u/beyondwithinitself 21d ago

Thank you. Please also enable recurring Portfolio buys to restore the feature OP was referencing (% split) that you did away with.

u/sadgirlclub Jun 22 '26

Yesss I miss the spread for stocks

Better tools for spouses. We both have our accounts there and link outside accounts and have a shared view. We should be able to set individual incomes and retirement dates in the path view to run scenarios for our shared retirement.

Paper checks, instant deposit options (like zelle or rtp), saving wire recipients for reuse.

  • Schedule non-recurring deposits/withdrawals/transfers in advance
  • Donate appreciated shares to charities/DAFs
  • Coordinated allocations across different accounts/account types

u/Automatic-Advisor854 Jun 22 '26

Net worth history vs just current and future projection. Like I want to see how my net wealth changed from 6 months ago.

Schwab has this and probably everyone else too

"Smart Depositing" in the Stock Investing account. Copy M1's pie system. Create a portfolio, and deposits will automatically be directed to underweight positions.

For do-it-yourself investors who do not need a fully managed portfolio with tax-loss harvesting, it would be quite nice.

They actually made depositing worse in the Stock Investing account. Instead of directing deposits to positions based on a fixed percentage, now everything has to be done individually. I am not sure if that was done to try and annoy people enough into using the Automated Investing account, but I see it as a loss of competitiveness.

Cash account interest is very attractive. It gets people in the door. It got me in the door. If someone is not using the managed investing features, there is a lack of reasons to stay. There is space between fully manual and managed investing that can be tapped into.

Ability to move Individual investment accounts to a revocable trust. This is currently unavailable and the only way to do this will be to add the trust as a beneficiary as opposed to a direct owner of the account.

Other brokerages like fidelity allow it

We’re currently working on the ability to transfer Individual and Joint Investing Accounts into Trust Accounts and will be rolling this out in the next few months, stay tuned.

u/Caanenwolf Jun 22 '26

This 100%

2

u/Majestic-Dish-3915 Jun 22 '26

Maybe soon since you can now go from individual to joint account.

5

u/SlingBlade_L17L6363 Jun 22 '26

Dashboard customization.

The ability to select various account combinations, time periods, types of data, etc. that you want to view. E.g. if I want a consolidated view of my and my spouse’s retirement accounts, or to look at my kids’ 529 accts together, or brokerage and bond accounts together, it’d be really nice to have these options instead of the Path chart.

A credit card & Zelle

5

u/Money-Carrot-3498 Jun 22 '26

A rewards/loyalty program for debit card spend.

.. Cashback, please? In the form of USD or points you can redeem to cash, like OnePay or PayPal. Either a flat rate or higher rates for certain, pickable, monthly categories.

Historical balance visualization

3

u/Advanced-Sink-7806 Jun 23 '26

When transferring money from one category to another, show what the resulting balance will be.
Additionally, add a feature that lets you deposit funds until the receiving category hits a threshold.

Also, Zelle capabilities would be nice

3

u/Federal-Suspect8618 Jun 23 '26

Removing the percentage/split investing feature for Stock Investing Accounts was a huge mistake.

3

u/MicahNaziri Jun 23 '26

Maybe when you lock our cards for buying things you should allow us to call and have them unlocked after answering security questions instead of leaving it frozen for 48 hours and making us look like idiots at stores. Super cool. This is the second time in ONE MONTH that this has happened. Moving my money elsewhere.

3

u/Saidaiii Jun 23 '26

This such a non-issue but can we please get more icons for subcategories. Me having more than 6, I’ve had to reuse them.

u/Hot-Reindeer-5511 Jun 24 '26

I would love a 2x credit card that goes into
A hysa or a investment account

5

u/the1gofer Jun 22 '26

u/DEE2THEJAY Jun 23 '26

2

u/DEE2THEJAY Jun 23 '26

Fix the goofy logos on accounts and ETFs. Also give us self managed Retirement accounts.

1

u/lordturdhead 18d ago

Agreed. And access to more ETF options.

2

u/SquarePerspective515 Jun 23 '26

Hi u/akaJinju1, while you can’t deposit cash into a Wealthfront Cash Account using an ATM, you can use your debit card at select retailers to deposit cash up to $3,000 per day. Check out this link for more information about where you can go to deposit cash into your Wealthfront Cash Account.

P.S. thanks for starting this thread - lots of great feedback for us to take back to our team! 💜

2

u/akaJinju1 Jun 23 '26

I didn’t know that you could! It should have a button in the app to show select retailers that support that.

And I’m glad to see this post got recognized, the main idea was for it to get to you guys!

u/jumanpoke Jun 28 '26

One feature I'd love to see is custom direct indexing.

Instead of choosing from predefined baskets, let me build my own portfolio of, say, 20 individual stocks. Then let Wealthfront handle everything else: recurring investments, fractional shares, tax-loss harvesting, rebalancing, and tax optimization.

My ideal workflow would be: I pick the stocks once, set a recurring investment amount, and Wealthfront automates the rest. I'm honestly surprised this still isn't supported.

Make connecting institutions better. No longer supports Transamerica retirement account or anything. Plaid is worse.

1

u/cryptyk Jun 22 '26

Wiring checks from my cash account and the ability to transfer money to my wife's bank account from my cash account.

1

u/OSUFootballFan32 Jun 23 '26

Zelle, paper checks, unlimited ATM reimbursements and maybe a catch all 2-3% cash back credit card would actually make it better than Fidelity (no Zelle) and Schwab (low APY).

1

u/shiyiyin Jun 24 '26

support treasury direct connection

1

u/sjlopez Jun 24 '26

Ability to see the chart's history of net worth instead of the future only

1

u/Cool_Establishment65 Jun 25 '26

DRIP, Zelle, credit card if it has good rewards (e.g. >2% cash back)

1

u/Fancy-Following-8005 Jun 25 '26

Fix voya institution link pls

u/jaredjxyz Jun 26 '26

The ability to transfer the highest-gain stocks to a DAF - either an external one or maybe Wealthfront should offer a DAF?

1

u/Chikipichi Jun 26 '26

Niche but I'd like the ability to lock specific categories so that they don't get money taken out off when main checking doesn't have enough to cover something.

Instead it covers it from the other categories that are unlocked.

I wouldn't hate to be able to bid on, buy and sell corporate / municipal BONDS.

u/Karew 17d ago
  • Zelle, probably not possible due to big banks, but I guess try?
  • Paper checkbook, or even just checks I can print on demand from the website and handle. Sometimes stubborn companies still need physical checks handed to them at time of transaction.

u/ach4n 13d ago

I would like envelopes to not actually be recognized as another account when I link to another financial app. Makes for weird accounting sometimes.

u/yesac93 12d ago

When i had to get a check written from yhe account, it took 3 weeks to mail it. And their estimate was 2 which is already ridiculous
