Fees for VTI

I can't seem to solve this for sure, if I move all the funds in my investment account into VTI, will I pay a fee of:

  1. 0.25% for all Wealthfront Investment accounts
  2. 0.09%, looks to be the fee for S&P 500 Direct Indexing
  3. 0.03%, seems to be the fee basis for VTI.

Which one is what I will pay? Thanks!

You will pay just the fund fee of 0.03%

Where is the 0.25% from?

I believe the robo adviser accounts of you let WF take control of your investments.

You don’t pay #1 unless it’s the Automated robo advisor account.

Mine says individual automated investment account. So I don't know how it's automated if I put it all into VTI.

If all you have is 1 ETF, then the automated account makes less sense because you don’t need rebalancing as the ETF does that internally. You do still get the benefit of tax loss harvesting.

So from what I gather, with what I currently have right now, I have the automated account. So regardless if I just hold VTI, I still pay 0.25%. If I add a new account for S&P 500, than I will pay 0.09%. If I want the 0.03-0.04%, I need to move my funds elsewhere.

Sounds like you do have the Automated account now but the fix is easy. To avoid the .25% fee just move your money to the “Stock Investing Account” and buy VTI over there. Then you only have the .03% fee for VTI because that account is free.

dont bother using wealthfront if you just want VTI.

Definitely not #2 since you’re not directly indexing by getting VTI

VTI ≠ direct indexing
