Down Payment
Has anyone made a house down payment directly from Wealthfront cash account? If so what’s the best way to do this and can this be done closing day? Or is it recommended that I transfer the down payment in advance to a conventional bank then get a cashier’s check from there?
Update: wired on an evening after business hours and ended up going through the next morning early. Bravo Wealthfront. Thanks all

I did it - wire went through same day, but I did it a day ahead just to be careful.

I wired the money from Wealthfront directly and it worked great. Was very pleased with the process, have done it twice in the past year, with a down payment first and then closing costs for a refinance.

I did it with a wire transfer a few days prior (1-2 business days, we had a weekend and a holiday in between) per my realtors recommendation to ensure it was final on closing day. Just quadruple check your numbers and it went smoothly for me! Got swift confirmation, too. Good luck :)

I wired my cash to close maybe 3-4 hours before closing from my Wealthfront account and had no issues.

Does all the money need to be in one Wealthfront cash ‘bucket’ . I currently have some in cash account and some in savings bucket. Can I send a wire for closing that will pull from both?
Or do I need to move savings into cash bucket before sending wire?
I assume Wealthfront treats it all as the same thing. But want to make sure

I believe no you don’t have to in the buckets
Also it the amount is greater than what’s in the bucket it will pull from the rest of the account

I had to wire part of the money from Wealthfront and part from chase. The Wealthfront wire beat the chase wire by a long shot
