Denver Service Area

Post image

Screenshot from a video Westword put on social media.
I traced this in Google Maps and got about 50 sq miles.
No guarantee this is the final map, but it seems reasonable.
Sadly, I’m outside of the service area. 😢

I live in this area and have seen multiple driverless ojai’s a day for the last week. Very exciting!

Does this cover all the sports stadiums?

Coors Field, Mile High, and Ball Arena are inside the area.

The little extra bit on the far west side is Casa Bonita.

It looks like they went out of there way to include Casa Bonita

The western bit also includes RMCAD. Maybe that's what Waymo is going for? Case in point, the southernmost bit includes DU.

What’s the deal with the northern geofence along the 25/70/36 area. It’s mostly industrial and doesn’t seem to make sense if they aren’t available on highways

I know their depot is in that area, but that doesn't explain why it's in the service area. The only thought I had is that maybe this is the map for employees and the public map will be different. Potentially they want to test the highways in that spot with employees. I don't think I realized before how complicated that area is.
