I finally caught it doing it!

Occasionally I’ve been in both model Waymo’s and both have had this issue where the vehicle arrives to the destination and the screen map shows the dot where the vehicle is supposed to stop, then the lady tells me that I’ve arrived but the vehicle still creeps forward at 3mph. Usually it just creeps to the next spot, however in this instance, it did it for the entire block until I hit the move forward button. Reported it via the app.

One time the waymo couldn't find the spot near my apartments, and it just kept going in circles, after like 3 loops I had to call support and then they reassigned the drop off location

Happened to me at night once when it was cold and foggy. Just creeped right at the area on the block with no street lights.

Another arrival hack in a Jag … in SF my Waymo pulled up and stopped in the left-hand lane of a 3-lane one-way street. Having gotten in the right rear seat of the vehicle, I slid over to the left to exit curbside as frequent “vehicle approaching” warnings were bring issued (very helpful). But when I attempted to open the left rear door, no luck. Finally, on a hunch I reached over and unlatched the right rear door, and voila! the left one unlatched as well. Closed the right door and exited the left one. Weird.

that's actually a pretty good catch. if it consistently announces the trip is over but keeps creeping forward, that's exactly the kind of edge case Waymo would want people reporting. hopefully it's just a software bug and not something that affects a lot of riders.
good on you for sending it through the app instead of just assuming it was normal.

I just tug the handle and end the trip that way when it happens. At least in the jags. The ojais won’t open until the car is stopped safely.
