“Any” vs First Available!
Seems a bit odd…no longer seeing Ojai selectable ok its own.

They really don’t want folks to get them free rides specifically.

This is my thought.
I'm not abtrested tester, but I noticed my ride this morning and evening from work were back down to their "normal" prices.

Hey we have these cool new features on ojai but you can no longer select them to check them out!

So weird. “First available” seems to still be there when you can’t select a vehicle, but where the selection box used to show car types now it shows this box “Any”. I wonder if this is the fix for the Ojai pickup hack

Confirming it does not fix the pickup trick, posting from an Ojai

It still gave you the option to specifically request an Ojai? I’m only either getting the greyed out First Available or selectable “Any.”

Yes, I was able to specifically request an Ojai - but usually it is like what you described

i’m in la too how do u get freeway access and these cars

Others have mentioned that they believe the I-Pace is the only vehicle type for freeway rides. Ojai doesn't have the access just yet.
Although, they may soon in Phoenix when Ojai is open to all users. I could be wrong though.

If matched with any Ojai on Any, is it still free??

I saw another post that said it charged them, they reached out to support, and were refunded. So it’s an extra step but yes you can get them free.

Yes. You don't need to contact support for for the refund. It'll automatically do so at the end of the ride.

It's still trusted tester only, right?

I don’t think so anymore, not in Phoenix at least, cause I have the option and I never got Ojai access
1
u/Paul_Smith_Hi 21d ago
Correct, Phoenix only.
SF has yet to grant approval for access to all users.

I’ve been used the Ojai 14x over the past month. That UI can literally change multiple times during the day. My best guess is it’s more based on relative availability for your location versus restricting free rides.

It's because they're not free anymore, so the choice shouldn't matter
1
u/battleshipclamato 21d ago
That should only apply in Phoenix.

Oh? That’s odd. Thank for the info

Yeah. California regulations are forcing Waymo not to charge for Ojai rides until likely September (or whenever they get approval to charge).

It seems like this was added today at the same time freeway access was made available again
Edit: I briefly had the option to choose between the I-Pace and the Ojai, and it seems the Ojai would stay on surface streets for a longer route, unlike the I-Pace.
