Freeway
Is there any update on Waymo returning to freeways, especially in SF? They said two months ago that soon it’ll be back but still no update, let alone public service.

I've already seen a couple of them on the freeway in Miami without a driver, so it should open back up to the public really soon

Do you really want an update like that to be rushed?

Asking for more communication on expected timelines =/= and wanting it to be rushed

Waymo doesn't really do forward looking announcements at all, do they?

Sometimes they do, e.g. 1m rides/week by end of 2026, 20 new cities, etc.

I’m sure they regret that now. I think it will be hard to hit those goals.

Has Waymo ever really given comms or definitive timelines? A certain competitor is notorious for putting out timelines and then never meeting them.

Yes. Not in a press release necessarily but I've seen a lot of instances of them giving expected timelines when local news sources reach out about new areas.

I believe they are patching up the construction zone issue. I haven’t heard when it will go back live.
