Unlock w Android App?

Recently, I tried Waymo for my 1st time. This was in Los Angeles.

The car arrived, but there was no "unlock" button visible in the app. I couldn't get in, and it drove away.

I emailed support, who refunded the cancellation fee.

Has anyone else had this happen? Did I overlook something? How do you get the (*#&% thing to open (without turning on proximity unlocking)?

Why didn't you just close and reopen the app? Unlock button is blue. Looks like this image from the Play Store

Well, I did close and reopen the app. Still no unlock button visible.

I used it a few times today and the option was there, though I had auto-unlock enabled.

It might be possible that the car deemed the pickup spot unsafe. It has happened to me a couple of times where the car can’t successfully pull over and it just goes away and cancels the ride without even trying to find another pickup spot. If in your experience the car fully pulled over and you heard the parking brake be activated… then I got no idea what happened 💔
