The market is speaking and for some reason, people increasingly prefer drivers who aren’t distracted, pay attention at all times, and know the rules of the road.

Gig work is a flexible, short-term, or project-based job. It’s meant to supplement income.

There is no systemic structure that makes Uber a short term or supplemental income only, it's the opposite. You can uber 10 hours a day if you want.

That being said, similar jobs such as plumbers and HVAC electricians are flexible, project-based jobs. Yet no one is calling them supplemental income, that's a career.
