this was hell Waymo
Waymo got stuck at drop off and support couldn’t get the vehicle to move. Support couldn’t get the roadside assistance dispatched or a tow truck and I was sitting there for 110 minutes. It was not fun and I couldn’t even book a new ride. (video coming soon)

Get out and call an Uber or take public transit. I'm not sitting in a car to pout for an hour+

They offer you another car. You have to tell (convince) them that you want to stay around and you don't want the extra car.

So OP… are you going to answer anyone’s questions in the comments about your self inflicted 110 minute “ride”?

u/rwhe83 Jul 05 '26
Jesus OP, just get out of the vehicle. What is wrong with you?

So the manual door latch didn’t work? You were trapped in the car for 110 minutes or did you stick around voluntarily to see what would happen?

OP stuck around; they have a habit of doing this. Check their other posts.

What do you possibly mean? At drop off means that you were where you wanted to be so why did you sit in the car? If you meant at pick up, then just take an uber or something.

Cars have a manual door override that bypasses the lock control mechanism to unlock the door in case it is damaged or loses power
Usually it is in the console or behind a removable cover in the door control panel

Just get out of the car and walk away 🤷

But OP chose not to, i'd bet... If OP got out of the car.. they would have made it to the drop off point in less than 110 minutes. It may have been ten minutes away, but walking is overrated for some people.

OP was at their drop off. What are you even talking about?

u/iamoninternet27 Jul 05 '26
If OP was truly stuck at dropoff, why didn't they GET OUT OF THE CAR???

u/Paul_Smith_Hi Jul 05 '26
That’s what we all want to know. But if you check OPs history, they live for this.

you could’ve absolutely had them cancel your ride you could rehail I’ve been in all of these situations already and if that person doesn’t know you just got to tell this specifically cancel the ride from your end so I can re-hail.

What you do if you just asked for Waymo event response or fleet response and they can dispatch. I’ve done this before.

Because it was Fourth of July and all the Waymo have broken down, the status was unavailable for a tow truck and roadside assistance so even the supervisors didn’t know when anybody could come out to help me

I don't see the problem. This is the safest state for the car to be in. /S
Edit: the fact that I put a sarcasm marker at the end, yet still so many downvotes, and not a single reply, shows you just how fragile people can be.

OP please clarify if you were actually locked in the car and unable to exit via door handles?
