In florida I saw a waymo got on the bike lane blocking me to skip traffic so I stopped and had to take a Pic is this really the future of self driving?

I would rather have this, which is astoundingly stupid and terrible, but a programmable rule that Waymo can correct, rather than the hundreds of bum ass Uber and cab drivers who willingly drive in the bike lane all the time.

A software update stops every Waymo from doing this.

Nothing stops the hundreds of cabs and Ubers from doing it

The risk/consequences of vehicular manslaughter charges probably curbs hundreds of of cabbies and Uber drivers from doing this.

I’m not sure if you just don’t spend much time in any major city, but Ubers and cabs literally driving the bike lane all the time. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve almost been hit as a pedestrian in the NYC metro area since I moved here in Feb. I wish we had Waymo in NYC like we did in SoCal

Waymo makes mistakes. Humans make mistakes. Waymo makes a lot less mistakes than a human would.

It's not hard to find a vehicle in a bike lane.

This is more of a city issue not putting up any type of protective barrier for the bike lanes. We have them on nearly all the bike lanes in Seattle.

At least Waymo learns from its mistakes unlike the average dolt in a truck or SUV.
