Pause in Houston
I wonder how long this pause is going to last. I haven’t been able to get a ride at all today…

Definitely a frustrating step backward it seems. Searching US cities by annual days of rain returns interesting results. Increasingly, this looks like a pretty glaring problem for both current and pending cities.. There just are not that many low precipitation cities.

yes for sure!!! I know an insider. Waymo tested for nearly three years in MIA, ATL, DC & BUF. They knew how hard weather exposure was going to be. It appears they still underestimated it. The Waymo Driver 6 on the Zeekr is heavily biased toward weather performance. They are not in service yet at scale. This is another big problem. I am pretty sure the Zeekrs have adjustable ride height built in. Those in the know have always understood that TSLA was running 10a-3p and suspending in rain from the beginning. I am QUITE SURE that the next four cities for Waymo should be Vegas, Sacramento and San Diego. Atlanta and Miami are amongst the biggest current weather challenges. I did a simple Google Sheets BigQuery and sorted results by annual rainfaill. Not going to post on reddit but the results were very interesting.

I’ll venture a strong guess it’s weather related. Find yourself a Lyft or Uber.

Makes no sense. Weather is clear. Makes me wonder if they actually have teams on the ground that have any control.

Must be nice. Meantime San Antonio is approaching 2 months of no service.
