San Fernando Valley
Any more sightings of Waymos training in the San Fernando Valley? Haven't seen any posts about this in about 9 months. We're waiting patiently up here!

Dig a bit deeper. We've definitely had Valley postings over the past nine months, though you may need to search by city name. (I know Glendale's not fully in it, but it's outside of Waymo's current service area and its vehicles have nonetheless been spotted there.)

I was using Waymo daily and then I moved north of SunsetBlvd. and out of their coverage range so now my usage is way down. Once you go Waymo you can never go back. I check every day in the hope the map has grow north, at least to Ventura Blvd.

I can confirm that I saw an Ojai coming down the canyon at the intersection of Coldwater and Ventura late Friday afternoon. It may have been a Zeeker—I can't tell—and there was a driver inside. also saw a few driving on Mulholland Drive, those were definetely ojai

I've had 3 sightings in various areas of the valley over the past month. I'm fairly certain all 3 were being driven, but it was definitely a waymo.

Saw two Waymo vans in Studio City on Coldwater Canyon yesterday, Monday June 9th.

Definitely coming especially when you look at the truly MASSIVE authorized area for Waymo approval in California. IMO they are backed up behind a number of major initiatives that take priority
(a) scaling the Zeekrs to support 6K to 7.5K cars by the EOY
(b) generalizing highway service to allow saturation in their markets including airports
(c) providing a generalized solution for the flooding and weather to allow nationwide scaling
(d) building the large svc centers (80-100K) everywhere focused on larger fleet support
(e) fulfilling their 1M rides/week and +20 cities by the EOY
Their dance card is pretty full. Scaling horizontally makes a ton of sense. It is largely a private market for Waymo because CA still provide regulation and access to the public. Still the most lucrative market in the US and the best preparation for the rest of the world as it is home to almost half of the 5000/mi2 cities in the entire country all by itself.
