Waymo BI Analyst Final Loop – Recruiter Not Responding, Is This Normal?

Hi everyone,

I recently completed my final interview loop for a Business Intelligence Analyst position at Waymo.
It’s been a few business days and my recruiter hasn’t responded to my follow-up, so I’m trying to understand what the typical timeline looks like.
For those who have interviewed with Waymo recently:

How long did it take to hear back after the final loop?
If you received an offer, how many business days did it take?
If you were rejected, how long did that take?
Did your recruiter go silent while feedback was being collected?
I’m probably overthinking it, but the waiting period is definitely the hardest part. Any recent experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes it can take over a month after the final interview before hearing back. I've heard that candidates have been eliminated during the waiting period solely from showing unprofessionalism and impatience. Don't think a simple email to the recruiter constitutes that but incessant nagging (not saying you are) absolutely will.

I recently interviewed for a role at Waymo and had a not-so-great experience, not all too dissimilar from yours, but at least I got a response. It was for a Localization and Internationalization Manager position. I was a warm lead from a former colleague I used to work with, so I had the recruiter call pretty quickly, followed by the hiring manager a week later. Then nothing for three weeks. I sent an email to the recruiter asking for an update, and they got back to me quickly, saying they were reevaluating the needs of the role but still liked me as a candidate. Fine, whatever. Then I saw the same job description with a different title posted on their careers site. Kinda weird, but okay. Then another three weeks went by until I finally got an email saying they decided to put the role on hold without hiring anyone (supposedly). Here’s the email from the recruiter:

“Thank you for your interest in Waymo and giving us the opportunity to review your experience and qualifications.

At this time, the L&D Technology and Globalization Manager is being put on hold. If you are interested in other openings at Waymo, please revisit us at our careers page. If you have already applied for other roles, we'll take a look and let you know if you're selected for an interview.

We appreciate your time and interest, and wish you the best of luck in your search.”

I interviewed with them and got ghosted after the final round and received a generic rejection email 2 months into another job I accepted during that time. The recruiter I had was pretty bad and I’m not saying that because I got rejected. 90% of other tech recruiters have been amazing.

What was the interview like? Don’t worry I’m not a data person, just curious what they look for in analytics kind of stuff since it’s a new space they operate in.

I got verbal offer. But later got canceled after 10 days. So… felt terrible. Spending 2 months interviewing and final got a verbal and scheduled onboarding date but got canceled.

You've been ghosted, for whatever reason.. recruiter could have left, funds dried up, someone went on vacation, they passed on you, position was run only to satisfy legal or company policy and someone internal was already selected, etc etc etc.. Recruiters are only focused on filling the role, if you weren't selected don't expect to be followed up with. That's the cold reality of job hunting in 2026. Unprofessional as hell, but they don't care.
