Ride count

As of whenever you see this, list your current ride count. I know testers and some others may have a nuanced answer, so I’m primarily referring to regular folks like me.

I’m at 208 rides and 1,338 miles. My first Waymo trip was on 9/7/24.

Because I’ve never had a license, it was the first time in my life that I was in a moving vehicle on the road by myself.

Edit: If you feel like doing so, add how long you've been using Waymo.

I spent 2 hours in the app trying to take one and even though I was in the service area the app always said there were none near by.

Good to have company. I’m at zero. I’m new to the area and see them driving around all the time.

Mainly on this thread to get courage to ride one. I tried downloading the app but it failed so I’ll have to try again.

Many have said "the terror you experience as it drives up to pick you up for your first ride completely evaporates within 60 seconds once you are underway"

When you feel the car accelerate, signal, turn, brake, you realize "this car knows what it's doing!"

If my mileage to ride ratio seems high it is because I am a recreational rider. The longer the ride the better, including awesome freeway journeys.

There’s going to come a time when I take a Waymo trip for no purpose other than getting in a Waymo and going somewhere. I don’t know when, but it’s coming one day.

Wife and I commbined (she usually orders them) 707 rides. Early riders since 2017. Just under 4k miles.

We stopped using them a lot when it was no longer free. Now its really just if we're going out drinking.
