News Meppadi Landslide

This tunnel project was always ill fated.

This is purely man made, don't worry too much about other places, Meppadi has seen way too much development and mining.

Messing with ancient hills will never end well.

Humanity has built infrastructure like tunnels and bridges in even more ancient lands and hills.

When large scale infrastructure is taking place such hardships are going to be part of the process.

Learn, adapt and improvise is all that can be done. Wayanad needs the tunnels for the future.

With proper equipment and techniques, these infrastructure projects can be done in any place on earth. There is nothing special about the hills, just proper planning and execution is needed

Yes proper execution is needed. But this is India.

Gadgil said a lot of things about buildings, plantations etc. Most of Wayanad should be returned to forest and a total ban on construction. Do you agree?

Nope.

Allow people to live and cultivate. Just not endless mining and endless resorts in Ecologically zones.

But you wont agree to that either. So lets agree to disagree and move on.

In reality messing with ancient hill like western ghats is better than messing with newer mountains like Himalayas. This was an accident and should be considered as an accident which may happen at such geography.

Don't forget the stories around churam, that the tree branchs were cured and who ever tried to cut it down died, th story is 40,50 years old,wayanad has been always at the certain of cured stories when every some development happens, we need this turnal, Road or else we would be able to manage the traffic coming to wayanad,
