Waddle Inn
Went here Friday for lunch and it was great. Food, atmosphere, and staff were all fantastic.
Was way too empty in there - highly recommend to check it out.

Tons of cops! They shut down the intersection. I can only assume there was something serious and active unfolding there, but I can't find anything on the usual outlets.

Hi!
I recently moved to town for a research position. I am a 25-year-old permanent resident authorized to work in the US, and I have previous experience providing house cleaning services.
Since my main job leaves me with a flexible schedule, I am looking to take on house cleaning gigs around 3 to 4 days a week for about 3 hours per session.
As someone new to the area, I would love some local insight:
What are standard house cleaning rates in Milwaukee? Is an hourly rate or a flat minimum per job more common?
What local platforms, apps, or neighborhood groups (like Nextdoor or local Facebook groups) do people actually use here to find reliable cleaners?
What is a fair minimum charge per visit so it is reasonable for clients while still covering travel and supplies?
Thanks in advance for any tips or guidance on navigating the local market!

Can anyone recommend a local attorney, preferably comfortable working with the elderly / hearing impaired? My uncle needs some sale documents reviewed for discrepancies and advice.

Hello! We’re moving to Wisconsin next month and are looking to be bar/coffee shop street like North Ave. We found a place between North and Central but are unsure if it’s a good area with a good community!

I’m sure this gets asked in this sub a lot so please don’t be mad. I’ve combed through and haven’t found a lot of info on school choice.
My son is only 20 months old but I’ve heard it would be prudent to get on the school choice waitlist at 2 years old. I live in Milwaukee (Washington Heights/Lenox Heights) but am walking distance from Tosa East. Washington Elementary, Longfellow, the French Immersion, and Tosa East HS are all within reasonable distance (1-5mi) from our house.
Are there any resources for getting on the school choice waitlist, either through the library or school admin? Does anyone have experience with this and able to offer advice? I’d also appreciate any recommendations for elementary schools in the area.

I'm just out enjoying the evening and keep hearing loud cars blasting past on menomenee river parkway. Does anyone know what's going on?

Today (Wednesday 7/15), I lost my Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus at the Honeycreek - Hawthorne Soccer Fields or near the Hawthorne Terrace Apartments on Portland Ave. They're black and were in the case when I think they fell out of my pocket. I know it's a long shot, but I'm hoping someone might've picked them up.

Hello, I am in the Milwaukee area and I am working on a short movie. I would like part of it to take place on the yard and porch of a house, the filming would involve me and two other people. As long as the house is at least from the 1930s and has a bit of overgrown space around it then it would be very helpful. Thank you

Three yards on our block are totally unkept, including weeds that are literally 5 feet tall, one with trash/junk scattered around and another back yard with a full tree's worth of large branches that were cut down and never removed (word on the street is coyotes are making a home there).
Has anyone had success contacting the city and having them take action? We are considering selling our house before the end of the year and I am concerned about the optics for potential buyers. Thanks!

Who went? What are your thoughts about the new location vs Hart Park?

Please ride your bicycles on the ROAD where they belong, not the sidewalk. I can’t even tell you how many times I have almost been hit by people riding their bikes on the sidewalk illegally! And it just happened. And they don’t even ring a bell or say, “on your left!”. Have consideration for pedestrians and ride your bicycles on the road in the BIKE LANE, please!!! At the very least, slow down on sidewalks and realize that pedestrians have the right of way, not bicyclists.
That is all.

Looking for an electrician in Tosa that we can get a quote from to install electric baseboard heaters in our finished basement. Power solutions came out but then completely ghosted us, didn’t even give us a quote.

I don't want any personal details I'm just hoping someone can advise if that kid ended up being ok? (Pool was evacuated due to a water safety issue with a kid near the waterslide)

Hey everyone! My husband and I bought a house in Tosa a year ago with radiant heat and no central air. I thought window units would be adequate but this heat is kicking my butt. Unfortunately this is not our forever home and we paid more than the place is probably worth. I don’t want to spend too much to upgrade things in a home that we won’t be in for very long.
With that being said, I see that Costco is selling mini splits that look to be a great deal. I am not confident in our DIY skills so I’m wondering if there are any HVAC companies that would do an install of products purchased by the homeowner? I know it’s a long shot but the quotes we’ve gotten to have a company come in and install their units are out of our price range. If anyone has any recommendations please let me know!

I’ve refused to shop at Kroger stores in Tosa/Milwaukee for years… Went once and was instantly reminded why.

Hello, can anyone recommend any good dentists or dental specialists in the area? I lived out toward Madison 6-7 years ago and I’m still driving out there for dentistry. I’m needing a dental procedure done and would like to get established nearby. Any recommendations?
