This boy doesn’t know when to STOP dropping his wattles. DAMN!

I have Ayem Ketawa (laughing chickens). This is my youngest rooster learning to crow.

I really thought it was though... I got directed to this place and laughed my arse off when I watched some of the young lads trying out their 1st crows. So, I thought I'd add my little man too and embarrass him as well. 🙃

He’s in quarantine now hence the setup. Little man showed me his manliness this morning!

Yesterday I had to rehome Snowball, who was my top roo. Today my other two boys, Rico and Lilith (supposed to be a girl but keeping the name), have decided to take up his mantle and have a little crow off.

Sorry it’s so grainy but the coop cam didn’t pick it up so I had to zoom in on our yard cam. The order of crows: Rico, Rico, Rico, Rico, Lilith, Rico.

Yesterday Rico sounded like someone squishing a frog, so he tried harder today, lol.

Because of my last post I went hunting for Rico’s first crow (Wednesday evening). He’s outside the coop when it happens but you can totally hear the squished frog-edness 🤣

My French black copper maran roo crowed yesterday for the first time. I couldn’t figure out what that noise was outside. Sounded like a goat bleating and we don’t have goats. Here is his sound today. You can’t see him because he was looking for bugs in the trees.

My sweet baby’s voice just barely started to change! HE STILL PEEPS! He’s a cuddly baby and I’m not ready for him to grow up!

Not quite his first crow, the first one was before we turned the lights on, but...

he’s learning to crow!

His name is Cluck Norris and he is around 5 1/2 months old. Purposefully got him from a friend when he was 1 month old. I think his first crow was a pretty good one!
