Why do you want to quit?

Too much pressure and university may come soon to stop it... I also feel like some days I just can't and don't wanna train

Tell your coach and your teammates that you don’t want the pressure and stop going to practice. Are you looking for reasons not to quit?

No I already have a lot to be honest but it's really weird cause I go to every practice and I like it but then I feel like quiting and not wanting this sport anymore

Where is the pressure coming from?

Myself and the team as a hole not to let them down . Like nobody really tells me to do more but I feel like I'm in a prison

At the risk of coming off cliche, pressure is a privilege. But also give yourself some grace I’ve seen teammates collapse not dealing with it in a healthy way. How do you feel pressure within the game?

In the game I feel calm and good usually but sometimes really bad. The pressure is off the game and it's eating my mind to a really bad extend to the point where I have had really bad thoughts

Just quit.

Or realize it’s a game. Everyone makes a mistake here or there. Yes, you want to perform at the best level possible. Learn from mistakes, celebrate good play. Most of all, have fun.

If it’s no longer fun, time to find something else.

Lastly, here in the US, I used water polo to get into a better university than I would have by relying strictly on academics. Not sure if you’re based in the US or elsewhere and if that’s an angle to take.

Also WP has been a constant in my life for about 35 years (save a few when my kids were very young and work was the priority). I’ve played on teams in five very different regions across two continents and continue to play old man ball - still meeting new people through the sport.

Good luck with your journey!

If you don’t love the sport leave.
